Since I wanted charting or taking OPKs, I have no way of knowing if we really had the best "Shettles" method, but in our case it did not work. MIL has been hounding me for a girl since we started dating!</p> <p>months 1 and 2 of ttc, we just had sex all the time, but didn't get pregnant.</p> <p>month 3, we thought I'd ovulate again on the tuesday because it was the same as months 1/2, and had sex monday and tuesday. then my opk was positive for wednesday night! we didn't get a chance to do anything again..</p> <p>so, we BD monday/tuesday, and ovulated thursday. I'm having a girl! not sure if there's any science to it or was just a 50/50 shot.</p> <p>my diet was also mainly dairy and carbs because meat grosses me out. not sure if that had anything to do with it either? We are not temping/charting, but I am trying to clue in to my body's signals to guess at O. We would be over the moon with a happy, healthy baby--boy or girl, it doesn't matter. I think that I will O this weekend while DH is away and it got me thinking about the Shettles method, since we've been BDing this week a few days prior to my guess at when O will be.</p> <p>Has anyone tried the Shettles method (to conceive a girl), either on purpose or because of timing? Did it "work"? From what I've read it sounds like it is pretty much a crap shoot, but I am curious to know if anyone has personal stories! Again, this is just for fun--like I said, we are just excited at the beginning of our TTC journey and want a happy, healthy little one when the time is right. </p>
