Also, we've never felt any less of a family unit for having different last names. I have five now because I tacked DH's on to the end and use it socially even though I haven't and likely won't change legally. LO's will be like that as well. So I am First Name, Middle Name, Mom's maiden name, Dad's Last name. It was kind of a mouthful when I was little, but now that I am grown I LOVE it and did not change it when I got married. Plan to follow the same tradition with any future LOs.
