I once was so frustrated with RJ that I pretty much screamed at him from across the kitchen. Thank God he was too young to even really understand what was going on and he didn't even cry. But I felt like the worst mom in the whole entire world. I still want to just drop to the ground whenever I think about that moment. I think that we all need to remember that we are all still just mere mortals and being a mom IS DIFFICULT. If I were able to accept my limits and figure out how to get enough help to avoid those kinds of situations before they happened, it could have been avoided. I will be so much more prepared the next time around to be the absolute best mom I can possibly be.

But yes, watching stories like the text-a-holic mom makes me feel better about myself ;) At least I only break down because I'm trying so damn hard, and not just because I'm lazy or stupid. Haha.

It's normal to think that way. Sometimes we need a little validation that maybe we are being too hard on ourselves.

This will play in a lot more when your LO is older. With my daughter's being 8 and 5, they are more self sufficient and don't always need me. So, I'll get in grossed in something and if they come to me in the middle of something I may not stop dead in my tracks to respond to them.

That doesn't mean I don't hear them or that I don't know they are asking me something. But, as they get older, unless they are on fire or bleeding I'm not going to drop everything to attend to them.

Now, when they were smaller that was totally different. They always got my full attention because they needed me 100% of the time. Now a days, they don't Want me 100% of the time lol

@chopsuey119: I hate when it gets so bad I throw her at her dad :( But we can't be the ones to deal with the cranky pants babies all the time! Thank goodness your DH is home now and not traveling so he can give you a rest!

I was feeling like a terrible mommy yesterday!! LO would not nap and whenever I tried giving her boob, she would bite my nipples! Was so frustrated. I raised my voice at her a couple of times "no biting!" and I took her downstairs and handed her to her dad.

*sigh.

Thank God they don't remember anything the first couple of years.

LO JUST went down for a nap a few minutes ago. After being up for FIVE hours. :) I learned from yesterday and just rolled with the punches.

Being a mommy is tough

I've been pretty hard on myself lately because I've been getting awful migraines and can't be the mom I'd like to be. I either have someone else taking care of my LO for me so I don't get to spend all the time with her that I'd like, or I'll have to take care of her with a headache and can't play with her like I want. I'm more likely to stick a toy in her hand or put her in her jumper or do tummy time while I just lay there. I hate it, and I feel like a bad mother.

And then I watched True Life, I'm a textaholic. There was a mother on that show who ignored her crying son because she was too busy texting all the time. And even worse she would text and drive with him in the car.

I don't take care of my LO the way I would like to because I physically can't. This lady didn't take care of her son properly because she chose texting over him. I know it's not nice to make yourself feel better by putting other people down, but I just can't help it. Sometimes it just makes me feel better so see people do things worse than me.
