He sttn!" Meanwhile, he was getting up 5x/night to nurse or whatever! Sometimes I wasn't bothered, sometimes I was over it, but I didn't want CIO advice. I felt like every time I talked to someone their first question was is she STTN yet? And I'd say no, she only wakes up to eat and goes right back down its not too bad at all. And then they told me how I just HAD to let her CIO so she'd learn to self soothe or she wild never learn to sleep through the night. I have very low sleep needs myself and have just accepted that my child takes after me. I never thought I'd co-sleep but it works for us. Most of my friends were or are working moms who did it as a last resort. My first I never had to sleep train and now with a baby who doesn't sleep through at 12 months I totally get why CIO works for some. But then I had a LO who was waking up multiple times a night at a year old and not falling back asleep no matter what I did. It was a last resort and I'm glad I did it. We did a modified cry it out and within a couple of days he was sleeping 11-12 hours and not crying at bedtime. I wouldn't say I'm surprised, it doesn't apply to me so I just click on the next thing. Like almost everyone in my new moms group, except the really hippy type girl. Even the mom would pull over every time her baby cried in the car! Tons of my coworkers. Friends that I wasn't expecting had done it in the past. It's really surprising to me. I know it's a personal choice but it's definitely a majority of my friends and acquaintances.
