I try to leave accurate feedback. The only time I had a negative experience, the seller fixed it for me (after telling me the screw up was my fault--SO not the case) when I told her I'd consider how she responded to the issue before leaving feedback. So I made it positive, otherwise I would have told the truth about why I had a negative experience (i.e. when I specified LEMON yellow, I mean the color of a lemon...not pale yellow like buttermilk).

@HeatherlovesKenny: Oh that's a nice feature. For small business people, it's really detrimental to have one black mark.
I think it's generally common courtesy to notify a seller when you're going ot leave negative feedback because usually will do what they can to fix it.

That's crazy they sent you someone different!!

I have always had great service and leave good feedback.

We talked and apparently etsy has a "kiss and make-up" policy so I can delete my comment and she can refund me my money.

I always leave feedback but I would never leave negative feedback without contacting the seller first. If they quickly rectified the situation, I would leave positive feedback noting that there had been an error but they had quickly corrected it. If they hadn't... I would have left negative feedback. They were probably irritated they hadn't been given the chance to fix the situation.

I always do, and I've always had great experiences. Speaking of, I have a few items I need to go leave feedback for! Thanks for the reminder!

I always leave feedback because I know how few people do and how important it is for sellers!

I have had 2 negative transactions and contacted each seller to give them a chance to rectify it before I left feedback, one of which did and one of which didn't.

But I think it should be left, negative or positive :)

I have only I had positive experiences on etsy but I have heard that its almost unheard and kind of a "no no" to leave negative or even neutral feedback. I get wanting to keep the vibe positive, and it makes sense to try and resolve privately. but come on.. This irritates me. What is the point of feedback if you can't be honest?

@bree72: I probably should have contacted them first. I just figured the feedback was there for honesty.

I always leave feedback... I've dealt with the most amazing people on etsy and have always left positive feedback. And they always return the favor. :))

Thankfully I've always had positive experiences on etsy so I've only left positive feedback. One time I had a bad eBay experience and left neutral feedback and the seller went and left negative feedback for me as the buyer! Like @bree72, I would try and resolve things with the seller first (especially on etsy) before leaving negative feedback.

I do. All of my etsy experiences have been positive and I've left positive feedback.

I did find a seller on Etsy but went through her business website to purchase a hat for DS. The turnaround time was supposed to be 5-6 weeks. It took closer to 12 weeks! I contacted her when the 8th week arrived and I still hadn't received my order. She got mad!! I really wish I had gone through Etsy and been able to give feedback. She was horrible to work with.

I always do. But I'd never leave negative feedback without contacting the seller first and trying to get things resolved first. Unless they were just a pain to work with.

I do! Most of it is positive because I try to let the seller resolve the issue before leaving neutral or negative feedback.

I usually do, and it's always been positive. I ordered cuff links for my husband for our wedding day, and they broke at the reception - both of them. If I hadn't already left positive feedback, I definitely would have left negative. But I didn't feel like going back and correcting it. Otherwise, I've always had a positive experience with Etsy.

I always have something nice to say when leaving feedback on my etsy purchases even if its not exactly what I was expecting because I feel like someone has worked so hard and I'd rather not put them down.

However, I received something that was entirely different from what I ordered and it came late so I went ahead and left negative feedback. The etsy seller contacted me and got angry!

Do you leave feedback on etsy? Is it mostly positive?
