there are two things you can try. you can try a dream feed -- wake your babies up around 10 or 11 when you're going to sleep, and feed them then. then you might get a longer stretch of sleep at night.

and babies are supposed to sleep a little longer on formula because it takes longer to digest, but sounds like they already do a long first stretch already. you could try giving them formula at bed time and see if that makes a difference.

they are still young so they may start to sleep through the night on their own. 2 wake ups is not that bad..... olive still wakes up twice! :)

No real-life experience yet, but one of our nurses told us that formula usually does make babies sleep through the night earlier, as it takes longer to digest than breastmilk. But based on your current schedule, I'm not sure that's really true! Might be worth playing with the feeding times though, as Pol suggested, since they seem to be giving you a good stretch of time from 6-1. Maybe over a week or so you could adjust that forward to cover more of you & hubby's sleeping hours?

P.S. Can't believe your babies are 3 months already!!! :)

How about a feed about 11/midnight? Should stretch it out a bit for you.

so my babies are 3mos now and we bottle feed 7oz of breastmilk at around 6:30pm. we also feed 6oz of formula when they wake up around 1:00am. and then breastfeed when they wake up around 4:30am.

how do you get them to sleep through the night? should i put them to bed later? feed them more? or will they just adjust as they get older?
