I was just diagnosed with GD 2 days ago and my OB's agreed to diet controlled treatment. So far my numbers are pretty much below 150 ( even with occasional bouts of carb loading) and I am at 28 weeks now. I am hoping that they stay that way and don't get any worse!

@HLK208: For sure! I think it's great that you are being proactive about it now! I should probably start too

@lilyann: that's interesting, I'm only 13.5 weeks so it might get worse but I assume as long as my numbers are decent, I can just walk more and do prenatal yoga to keep it down. That's what helped the first time! I'm glad I opted out of doing the 3 hour...it would be disappointing to have to do another 3 hour after 20 weeks if I passed it now.

@HLK208: How many weeks are you now? I had GD with my first and controlled it with exercise and low carb/low sugar diet. I had numbers similar to @avivoca:

Reason I ask how far along you are, my doc mentioned not testing me for GD until after 20 weeks. He said this is when GD tends to flare but I haven't researched it much.

I had GD, but I think we use a different measurement here, because a "good" range before eating was 3.7-5.5 and after could be up to 7.3. I stayed in range, but was on injectible insulin... so not the best indicator.

Yep, mine were about the same as @avivoca. Mine was controlled with diet and I rarely had numbers above 120.

I had gestational diabetes that was controlled through diet. My daily numbers ranged anywhere from 78-89 fasting and after meals could be anywhere from 78-118 two hours after meals depending on what I ate.

What were your daily numbers like (in the morning and 2 hours after meals)?

I had to do the GD test early this pregnancy because I had it with my first (not my second). I passed at 138 but 140 is the end of the normal range. They want me to do a three hour test to make sure I don't have GD but I have Hyperemesis so I get sick very easily and I know the three hour test isn't doable.

I've been taking my blood sugar at home, eating normally (actually a pretty carb filled diet since it helps with the Hyperemesis) and I stay around 80 which is much lower than when I was pregnant with my first (I ate very healthy and my numbers were still 100-120 back then). I'm thinking I don't have GD? I'm curious to know other people's numbers.
