When we had our roof replaced, it was constant banging and hammering ALL DAY. Even I got a headache from all the noise. =( if you have a family's house or somewhere you can hang out for the day, that'd be best!

Not a roof replacement, but we had work done on our apartment building that involved drilling into concrete during LO's nap time. It was all around the building and during various times over 2 weeks.

I used a lot of white noise and when he was truly tired, he slept.

ugh we had our roof replaced before lo was here and it was so annoying that i had to leave the house. i can't imagine that my lo would sleep through all that noise but he is a light nap sleeper, though, so it probably depends on how heavy of a sleeper you have. :)

I went and camped out at my parents house for the 2 days the roofers were here. The banging was loud and they started at 6am (summer hours, start before it gets super hot). We had to get our dogs out of the house too since there were nails and stuff flying into the yard (which the roofers cleaned up before they left) and the dogs would have barked all day long at the strange noises.

Aww I'm so sorry. We are hoping to have ours replaced during the week while we are at work/daycare.

What did you do about your LO's naps? M turns into a bear at night if she doesn't get good day sleep so I'm kind of nervous about it. Any chance we'd be able to block enough of the noise out with her white noise machine that she'd be able to sleep on the opposite side of the house than where they're working on? Ugh! The dramas of baby sleep!
