Can I just say that holy crap your LO is a napping champion?!

My LO is only 4.5mo but from our experience, I would guess it could be from the shift in her sleep. They say that around this age they start sleeping a little more like adults and begin to have trouble transitioning from one sleep cycle to another. Maybe she's waking because of the transition?

@cvbee: That's the same book I have and I'm ashamed to admit that I'm too lazy to go back and find the part where he talks about when the third nap drops. Hahaha!

Ugh, I thought I had it all sorted out after a month of LO being a great napper. Damn 4 month regression :(

I had a similar question at that age, and I read the Healthy Sleep, Happy Child book, which suggested that the 3rd nap wouldn't likely drop by that time...I forget but it was quite a bit later....I worked to get that nap back, but our three naps are only an hour.

I hardly even wanted to respond to your message as I found 4 months old and the whole sleep regression thing to be the hardest thing I've dealt with yet.....hardly want to think about it!!! :) We're just out of it now. Finally. 5 months old and lots of work later.

How old was your LO when he/she dropped the morning nap? I am quite certain that LO is way too young to be doing this (she's 4 months old and we have been nap training for roughly 1 month) and yet, where I once easily got a 2-3 hour morning nap I am now getting around an hour - and it's a struggle to get that. Nothing has changed with regard to her nighttime sleep, so I'm wondering what's going on and whether she's ready to drop or shorten the morning nap or perhaps it's just 4 month sleep regression (which I had SO desperately hoped to avoid).
