Going into the NT scan I had no idea that they might be able to tell you a gender that early, but apparently they can as long as the baby is in the right position, and the person reading the ultrasound is very good. </p> <p>I'm curious if anyone received an incorrect guess. At first it looked like it was at an angle, but when you compare it to the way the baby is, it looks like a girl! On a sidenote I mostly thought ours was a boy until I looked for the nub about a week before my a/s! The guessing tech didn't want to say and I really pushed her for a guess. When she guessed girl, I asked what percentage - 20%, 50%, 80% or she really couldn't tell. She said 90%. I asked why she was so sure and she said "well we look for these three lines here" and pointed to them - they were as clear as day. I asked what they were, and they were the labia. I then asked if a boy could ever have those three lines and she looked at me like I had 3 heads and said no, never - they would have a penis and scrotum. Haha. The next ultrasound our little girl had her legs wide open and it was an 'oh yeah, definitely a girl'. I have another ultrasound next week and still want to triple check though, otherwise our son will need to learn to enjoy a purple room and lots of pink clothes. :) </p> <p>P.S. Poor friend! When my husband's grandmother had her third baby she was really drugged and didn't really know what was going on at the time of delivery. So later when she was more aware she had to ask one of the nurses what she had. The nurse told her she had a boy and she was soooo happy because she already had two girls. Turns on the nurse must have thought she was in a different room or something because it was a baby girl!!
