@Goldengirl: I had much much worse than just spotting during both pregnancies, one they found a reason, this pregnancy - no reason! it really plays with your mind to not know why it's happening, hang in there!

@Goldengirl: my SCH was really hard to find. They saw it in the ER but my doctor was never able to see it on the ultrasound in the office. Thats one of the reasons I was on and off bed rest. Theybcouldnt figure out wht the bleeding kept coming back! Hanflg in there <3

@runnerd: Thanks so much, that makes me feel a bit better. It's the worst!

@Mrs. Lion: Thank you! I don't have a SCH, they haven't found any reason for the spotting which drives me nuts. I can't wait to be able to feel him.

@kodybear: Thanks!! They haven't been able to find any explanation for mine, I wish they could so I could know it wasn't the baby. It's hard to remain calm when it happens but I'm trying.

@skipra: @pachamama: @chopsuey: Thank you for sharing, makes me feel better!

Thanks everyone. Been a bit down today and running to the bathroom constantly. Your comments help a lot.

I have had spotting with every pregnancy and I have never had a miscarriage. My second, I spotted until about 13/14 weeks. I had a SCH though, and that was the source of my spotting.

I had a ton of spotting! It lasted until 12 weeks, but I was on progesterone suppositories which might have caused it. My two colleagues spotted excessively too. Theirs was actually bright red bleeding at some points. All babies born perfectly healthy!

With my first the spotting started at 13 weeks and continued for 10 weeks. Not sure the cause, maybe a cervical polyp, but everything was fine! Good luck!

I had spotting/bleeding earlier this pregnancy at 12 weeks and then again at 16 weeks. First time was due to SCH and then I was diagnosed with a complete placenta previa. Baby was fine despite scary bleeding. Ironically I never had spotting during either of my two miscarriages.

I had a pretty big bleed right before 13 weeks and went to the ER because I didn't know what was happening. Turned out to be a SCH and baby was fine. I spotted on and off for the next 2-3 months and was on and off bed rest because I was a teacher and my job was very active (lots of activity restarted the spotting).

Everything I have read since really says that bed rest doesn't help very much in these cases. My son was born at 34+5 and they think that there is a possibility that the bleeding contributed to my water breaking early (blood can irritate the uterus I think was the reasoning?) but they don't really know. I did get lots of extra ultrasounds though, just to check and for my peace for mind, and that helped a lot because I didn't actually feel him moving until around 25 weeks! Once I could feel him wiggling I felt so much better, but the extra ultrasounds were what really helped me through it.

ETA: Even born early my little guy was perfect and healthy!

Hoping it is no big deal for you and that the rest of your pregnancy is smooth sailing! <3

With LO #1 I bled until 15 weeks, and with LO #2 it lasted until 13-14 weeks.

It sucks and you never feel "safe", but hoping it clears up for you soon!

How long did your spotting last? I've had it off and on since the beginning and every time I think I'm in the clear it happens again. I'm at 13 weeks tomorrow and just had another incident with some dark red bits and pinkish red when I wipe after peeing. Yuck. My doctor last time said just to ignore it because all my scans have been great... but it freaks me out every time. Anyone else have experience where it continued like this? Any positive stories appreciated.
