@Mrs. Pen: I had to shave my son's head bald once b/c I messed up so horribly. This was when he was a lot younger and didn't care.

@glimmersnaps: Oh no! My son was a little afraid when we first started cutting his hair with the clippers. He's fine now as long as he has something to watch. And that's hard to do b/c he'll move if you're in his way.

@T-Mom: Good idea on the You Tube videos. I might check it out next time. Or just have my husband do it! LOL!

@BoogieBea: Yeah, it would be fun, especially if it's a place like Cartoon Cuts which we have yet to take him to. The two times we took him to get his hair cut at the barber shop and JCPenny (b/c they were offering free cuts before school started) it didn't turn out exactly the way I would have liked it but it was good enough.

Oh no! I cut my son's hair too. He's actually never been to a barber shop before. I think I should take him one day just for the experience, but I would be so angry if I didn't like his cut. Anyway, I normally cut so very little off at a time that his hair doesn't really change all that much. I watched some YouTube videos and that helped a bit. I'm still not good with the bangs. I want to cut them shorter so it'll be out of his eyes but they never look perfect.

I have cut my DS's hair once but he's still little and it wasn't that hard to give a little trim. I know nothing about hair cutting though so I plan to take him to the kids hair salon when he needs another hair cut. My daughter on the other hand I have cut a few times and it took me forever to get her bangs right since I was so scared to make her look bad with too short bangs. So I just trimmed a tiny bit at a time and watched some YouTube videos and geez it took ages.

DH cuts his own hair with an electric razor and DS's as well. It has different length attachments so it's not all one length or even super short. DS is almost 2 and has had several haircuts this way (none at a barber). It works great and looks good. Only problem is now he's fearful of the trimmer's sound! :/

aww!! my mom did that to my brother haha. She always buzzed their heads. With the buzzers, there are different blades that cut close or keep it long, my brother liked some length and my mom accidentally put on the shortest one and shaved him nearly bald! He was soooo upset.

My husband and I usually cut our oldest son's hair. He's only had his hair cut at the barber shop twice in his 3.5 years of life. I've cut his hair a few times but this was probably over 1.5 years ago as well. And that was probably the last time I cut his hair. So tonight I decided to cut his hair and what a big mistake that turned out to be! He moved and I took a big chunk out from the front right side of his hair. Then I cut his bangs too short as well. He kept complaining his Netflix cartoon kept buffering. Finally when he accepted that we didn't have a good connection in his bathroom and that he'll wait I had already made mistakes to his hair. Then when I got sad that I messed up his hair he got sad and said, "I want my long hair back. Now I look like Baba (my husband) b/c he has reeeeeeeally short hair." Then he gave me a sad face. :(((( Broke my heart! I felt so bad. I told him that it'll grow back and that we can put gel in his hair to make it look cooler. Guess I'm not cutting his hair again!

Oh, and to make matters worse, I haven't even taken the boys' Christmas photo yet. Wah! What on earth was I thinking? I think the restaurant put WAY too much salt in my food so it clouded my judgement when I decided to cut his hair tonight. Seriously, the Japanese teppanyaki place we went to spilled salt on everything! I had to ask not to put any salt on my steak. I still feel so ill from it. I guess I'm not huge on complaining about my food b/c I don't want them to spit in it. :\
