1. During the transition from 2-1, what time did you start the one nap?
Around 11:30

2. Now that the one nap is solidly established, what time is nap time? How long did it take to get to that point?
12:30 is naptime, but I don't remember how long it took to get to that point. A few months probably.

3. How long is the nap?
1.5 - 2 hours usually

4. Did you notice an increase in overnight sleep?
Nope. Usually does about 11 hours overnight.

. During the transition from 2-1, what time did you start the one nap?
Around 11 or 11:30 when we started the transition.

2. Now that the one nap is solidly established, what time is nap time? How long did it take to get to that point?

He naps around 1, 1:30. It took about 4-5 months to get to 12:30, and another few weeks to push to 1.

3. How long is the nap?
Ranges anywhere from 1hr 10 min (when we started transitioning) to 2-3 hours (once the 1 nap was well established.

4. Did you notice an increase in overnight sleep?

He started sleeping later in the mornings, but he also moved his bedtime back. So it was a better schedule for us, but prob about the same amount (10.5-11 hours overnight).

1. He just dropped his morning nap, but kept his afternoon nap so the time didn't change for him.

2. His nap starts at 12:30, but can be moved around.

3. A good, well-rested nap for him is 2+ hours, but they're normally only about 1.5 hours.

4. No change in his overnight sleep, but if he misses his nap, nighttime sleep is nightmare so no matter what, we make sure he has at least one nap, even if that nap starts at 4pm!

@Bubbles: my answers are almost identical to yours :)

1. during the transition, usually around 11:30. when she woke up super early, like 5am, we aimed for 2 naps and put her down at 10-10:30, hoping to sneak in an afternoon nap.

2. maybe 6-8 weeks? now she goes down 12:30-1pm most days.

3. 2 hours, sometimes 2.5-3. if she sneaks in a second nap, it's usually only 45 minutes or so. she's always been a good napper so she gets a decent amount of daytime sleep regardless how it is divided up.

4. not at all! actually i noticed a decrease in overnight sleep, but it coincided with weaning and STTN, so that decreased her night sleep more than the nap schedule.

I'll go...

1. Depended on what time he woke up in the morning, but I'd usually shoot for 11.30 - 12pm. However during the transition there were a lot of times when he woke up for the day at 5am due to overtiredness, so on those days we'd have to revert to 2 naps.

2. I aim for him to be asleep by 12.30pm, but it often ends up being closer to 1pm as we are late getting home. He can go til about 1.30pm before he starts to melt down. He's been on one nap for 4 months, and I think it took a good 1.5 months before it didn't feel like a stretch keeping him up that long.

3. Anything from 1.5 hours to 3 hours. Yesterday was a shorter one, but right now he's past 2.5 hours and still snoozing away.

4. Nope sadly not, but by the time he dropped his morning nap it was only 20 minutes long anyway! He usually gets 10.5-11 hours overnight so I think he's doing ok for his age.

Good luck, this was a really tough transition for us compared to the 3-2 one, but now I love the one nap freedom

@BabyTsMom:
If I remember correctly we started at 1130ish and then slowly moved it to about 1230-1245. It took maybe three weeks to get to that and for a couple months afterward he would occasionally fall asleep in the car at 1145 if we weren't home from activities yet.

He usually sleeps no less than two, sometimes up to three hours.

He has always slept about 12-13 hours at night and that did not change.

Also, you didn't ask but we knew it was time to drop nap 2 because he started standing up and not going down for it! There was like a month of hit or miss and then it became clear it was over.

We haven't started the transition yet, but I'm curious:

1. During the transition from 2-1, what time did you start the one nap?
2. Now that the one nap is solidly established, what time is nap time? How long did it take to get to that point?
3. How long is the nap?
4. Did you notice an increase in overnight sleep?
