DS1 did this when he moved to the waddler room around that time. It took a little bit of an adjustment but actually, it was awesome. He was never a great napper at school but he would take a long nap when they went down to one nap. I think b/c it was quieter and the lights were low, it helped. He still napped 2x on the weekend for awhile.

Logan moved up rooms at 11 months and they do one nap. It SUCKED, for me, because he was exhausted when he got home from daycare and went to bed immediately. But he was totally cool with it at daycare and was great for them all day! Now he's been in that room for a month and doing really well with the schedule. He usually sleeps 2-2.5 hours and can stay awake when we get home. He still does two naps on the weekends, but seems fine with one nap during the week.

DD will be 1 in a few days... I think if she can nap for at least 2 hours for that 1 nap, it would be okay. There are times when DD would only do 1 nap, and it's totally fine as long if it's a long nap and it's in the middle of the day so her wake time isn't stretched super far.

When does she wake up in the morning? DD wakes up around 6-6:30, and at daycare she doesn't nap till 11am so it's almost 5 hrs.

@mediagirl: We would most likely do 5 days a week. I would pick her up at 12:30 and bring her home for her nap. My oldest was really prone to getting overtired and would just stop sleeping when that happened...he took 2 naps until 18 months, and we should have let him keep the 2nd one longer. So 12 months just seems so young to me! But maybe she would sleep more at night?

We did it and it was a little rough at first, but after a couple weeks it was very normal.

And actually, at first he was still taking 2 naps on the weekends despite daycare with 1 nap. It was week nights that were the hardest, but like I said, it didn't last a terribly long time!

My son had to do it and it was hard. For the first month he would often fall asleep sitting up during playtime. they would move him to the "cozy corner" (book area with pillows)and let him rest for 15-20 mins before waking him up.

She was moved to 1 nap at 1 year. It was harder on me than it was on her. :) We let her take cat naps when she was home with us on the weekends but daycare really took care of the rest. How many days? 5 days a week?

If your child was in daycare and had to switch to 1 nap at 12 months, how did it go? I'm thinking about sending my daughter to her brothers preschool from 7-1230, but in the toddler room naptime isn't until 1245. I'm afraid this will be a disaster!
