FWIW, I had a Silverado with an extended cab, and managing getting in and out of any carseat with those doors was a nightmare. Never again. You need more space when the rear doors open the opposite way, and it is a challenge in parking lots.

We were just looking at the super crew F150s last month and I don't think there's anyway for a RFing convertible to be good in the backseat without it! For the seat and for the person in front of the seat.

You could look at the Cosco scenera next - it can be extremely upright for a kid who can sit unassisted. This photo shows how compact it can be. The graco extend 2 fit is another very compact seat.

We have a crew cab. We could not fit rear facing seats in an extended cab, but OH is 6'4"so his seat goes way back so that may be part of it. I can't remember if one fit behind me, or even if we tested it once we found out the driver side wouldn't work. We use Graco MySize 65.

We're currently truck shopping and are about to move up into a convertible carseat territory.

The extended cab for the F-150 is considerably cheaper, but we're concerned that we wouldn't be able to fit a convertible carseat in it. I have not found anything online that is helpful yet.

If you do have one? Does it fit a rear-facing convertible? If so, what kind of carseat? Thankfully we haven't purchased our convertible yet.
