Fussy, gassy and explosive poops sounds like every newborn I've ever met! If you switch too soon then they're only getting the foremilk. I would nurse on one side exclusively for two hours and then switch. I beleive I was over producing so she wasn't getting hind milk. After about a week this cleared up. We do bicycle legs, tummy time, burping, infant massage, warm baths... But you are right. I would try not to stress if you can and just wait it out for awhile. If it keeps up longer than say 6 weeks, you may want to ask your doctor about it. We had similar issues that persisted and I was convinced it was foremilk/hundmilk issues at first, but actually it turned out to be MSPI (which has similar symptoms). But that is rare, so hopefully for you guys, you will be fine. Add in reflux, and you have the typical baby. My doctor kept stressing to me that all babies have an immature digestive system for the first couple of months and all have issues with reflux and gassiness at first. At that age a lot of babies are gassy and have trouble with poops.
