@MenagerieMama: Yeah, prob too early. We started EC around 8 months. I didn't want to go crazy with it, but rather, follow the biological ideas of: needing to pee or poop after eating, and needing to pee when waking up from naps. The squat position can help with pooping. Other than that, I feel like we're playing roulette in regards to poop during sleep. It's the worst. Thankfully, like most things, I assume it'll stop at some point. :)

@psw27: do we have LO twins?? The other day I heard this rythmic crashing noise and then heard LO on the monitor and was like - gah, some jerk doing construction woke up the baby! But then I looked at the monitor and realized that the noise was her! Doing that double leg thump :)

@littlejoy: she's only 5 mo so I'm not sure that will work! We're trying the cloth over disposable tonight so we'll see how it goes!

@MenagerieMama: LOL this is so funny and so true. My LO also bucks around like a wild animal. This morning I was downstairs and I heard this thumping and thought it was construction and it was LO taking both legs in the air and slamming them down into the mattress as hard as he could!! He also likes to stick his legs through the bars and rotate... wild babies!!

No diaper advice, we have a pee machine too. Luckily he could care less if he wakes up soaked. ugh.

How old is baby?

We started offering the potty to our LO before bed, and she usually poops on it. She's 14 months old.

We've been dealing with sleep poops for months, and it's so frustrating. We resorted to disposables for sleep, and they contain her poop, but it wakes her up every time.

What about a cloth diaper cover over a disposable?! We've never had a blowout with cloth.

What about doing a CD cover like a Flip over the disposable? We've never had a poop leak through the cover, and only had pee leak when my mom didn't snap it tight enough.

We had MOTN poop for a while and it was super annoying, then it stopped...I think it has to do with starting solids.

@junebugsmama: Oh my gosh, it's insane! I actually asked DH if we should lower the crib mattress because I was afraid she would flip herself out, but he thought I was crazy. She donkey kicks the mattress like a beast and flops so much she ends up perpendicular in the crib. She can't even roll back to front yet! She also loves sticking a foot between the rails (after she's done her 90 degree rotation) and thunking it back and forth. She can stay happy in her crib for a while after she wakes up but it often sounds like we have a mini broncho! I fear what she will be like when she is truly mobile! It is pretty ridiculously adorable though...

@My Only Sunshine: I'm so intrigued! I wonder if I could stick one in her CD, to combine the pee gel absorbing technology with the poop barrier of her CD...hmm...I can feel some diaper science experiments on the horizon.

@MenagerieMama: So frustrating! I'm not sure these would help with the poop situation, but they're great at holding tons of pee. We get these disposable diaper booster pads: http://www.amazon.com/Select-Booster-Diaper-Doubler-count/dp/B0083973FK

They're way cheaper at Babies R Us than on Amazon, which is rare. Those pads in combo with a sized up Huggies Overnight keep our super soaker daughter dry until morning.

Hope you get some sleep relief soon!

@Emsmems: We tried that. Didn't work. So we then went to specifically overnight disposables, which works as long as she doesn't poop! I don't know why they won't contain the poop, it's a little ridiculous. I suppose she's on the low end of their weight range, but I wanted maximum pee absorption power! And to be fair we really only had one night in the overnight sposies when she didn't poop, but she was dry in the morning (and I think her diaper weighed about a pound and was comically ginormous).

Geez, what a hassle! Can you go up a size in the disposables? That usually helps us when we are having leaks!

LO's sleep at night started getting a teeny bit better (just 2 MOTN wake ups), and she's great at putting herself to sleep, but then we have entered a battle for keeping her diapers managed at night! We had always bulked up her CD with an overnight insert, she didn't poop at night, and we'd change her in the morning and all would be good. Then she started leaking through the CD and for various reasons we've started trying disposables at night. After finding an overnight disposable that seems to hold it all (this girl is a pee machine at night!) she has started pooping at night. And the disposable does not contain poop worth anything. LO also does not care about being wet (even if it's to the sheets) or poopy, so she is no indicator of when she is pooped to get changed right away. I can smell it better when she wears disposables but if she hasn't pooped when she's woken up to eat I only find out later after it's everywhere! I think we might go back to CD with a MOTN change because those are the only ones that hold in the poop, but I dread adding that to my half awake agenda (I do all the MOTN wake ups, even though I WOHM almost full time). Though tonight we will try a sposie with a CD un-stuffed pocket over it, may be crazy but we're hoping to get the best of both worlds.

Why did she suddenly become a night pooper?! Also - why does she flop around her crib like a frantic fish for entertainment, which squeezes all the pee everywhere? Oh babies. Tell me your crazy night struggles that don't involve sleep!
