I've forgotten my dog before. I came home and are was so quiet that I left her in the car. I realized it a couple of minutes later though.

Forgetting them cant be as bad as leaving them on purpose right? While I was at work once a woman came in to drop off a package. There was a line and while she was waiting another woman came in demanding to know who was driving a certain car because a baby was still strapped in her car seat. The other woman started yelling at the lady for leaving her kid in the car. She was basically shamed into leaving. I couldn't believe she would just leave her kid in the car. Oh yeah, it was summer too.

I always forget when LO is in the car as I'm driving. It scares me sometimes! But I have never left her in there...As soon as I park the car and get out, I see her.

Yep. Not gonna lie, sometimes when I'm driving and LO is quiet, I forget she's back there! I've never left her in the car though. I would die if I ever did!

I could totally see myself forgetting my LO in a car. I tend to get lost in thought a lot...

I have read that it happens when there is a break from the routine of your usual day and that throws you off. As a precaution, I make sure that the DH texts me every day as soon as he drops the LO off at daycare so I know that he hasn't forgotten her in the car.

My mom just told me about an article she read about people who forget their babies in the car. She said that people easily get distracted, and that it suggests you put something important in the back, like your phone, so you'll go back to get your phone and remember the baby. Ummmm..... isn't the baby an important enough thing to put back there?????

I do admit I have forgot about my dog in the back if he's extra quiet, but I haven't had that issue with LO yet. And when I get up to leave the car the dog gets excited and sits up, so I haven't actually left him.
