@loveisstrange: Well, we were mspi until about 6-7 months when we introduced dairy back in and she was fine. She's about 8.5 months now.

@Arden: I'm concerned with soy as well for the same reasons.

@Vegmama: no vaccines since her 6 month shots. We haven't had a chance to go get the flu, so it's not that.

So maybe it's congestion from the runny nose? Am I just doomed to cleaning up vomit on a daily basis? :( This morning she threw up twice, I knocked her head on the doorframe and the cat puked too! All before 730am. I'm so over vomit.

I'd be wary about switching to soy, honestly. I was vegan for many years but soy concerns me a bit because of the potential estrogenic properties.

Could it have been caused by her teething or a vaccine? Vi got runny noses when she was teething, that's quite common.

DS would get bad congestion and a runny nose followed by an ear infection when he had teeth coming in. They tended to come in bunches.

I haven't heard of formula causing this.

I'm a vegan, but I give my daughter dairy formula, because that much soy makes me a bit nervous. Dairy can do icky things with phlem, so maybe that's it. Has your LO had a vaccine recently? We usually get stuffed noses and drainage after vaccines and when cutting teeth.

You could always do a can of soy until it clears up. I recommend Baby's Only Organic Soy, as it contains some good stuff. Good luck!!

I mean... I never had formula cause the issue but i definitely had teething do it.

Id say that unless you were dairy free when you were bfing, then the dairy in the formula is probably not causing it. Im no medical professional though.

We switched to formula from ebf about 3 weeks ago. DD cut her first tooth and we started formula at the same time. She got a runny nose at this time. The runny nose stopped and she's had this gunk in the back of her throat since. It causes her to gag and throw up at least once a day. I've been cleaning up almost every day for the past 3 weeks. It dawned on me that the formula might be causing this congestion and she's not actually sick. I wrote my doctor this morning and told her my thoughts and she said I could try soy formula. Have any of you guys had trouble with formula causing congestion? What worked to fix it? I'm apprehensive about soy because of the estrogen stuff I've read about it. Would soy really make a difference? Thoughts?
