She seemed confused at first but then just started drinking. We talked about it and what we may do is give her a small amount every evening just to keep her going on the bottle but then only give her formula when we need to (I'm going to be away, we're going somewhere all day where breastfeeding would be difficult, etc). When he was younger he would take forever to eat. We went to a birthday party when he was 8 weeks old and I swear, I spent 75% of our time there in the bedroom nursing. Luckily the party was for a one year old so the mom totally understood. You really have to do what's right for you. It got easier to feed him when he was 3-4 months old but now at 6 months he gets distracted so easily and hates the nursing cover. </p> <p>I only breast feed at home. If we are going out somewhere I will bring a bottle. It makes me less stressed about feeding him and he is still getting what he wants, food. She eats so much that I don't ever really get to go anywhere because she would literally be nursing 75-80% of the time and it'd just be frustrating. DS is 6 months old and he gets formula at daycare and then we nurse when I'm at home with him. I pump twice a day while I'm at work but I don't get very much so it just goes into my freezer stash. Once in awhile on the weekends he will get a bottle of frozen breastmilk if I'm not home. I'm so much happier now that I am not stressing about pumping enough while I am at work. We have been doing this since he was about 16 weeks old. However, since he started sleeping through the night I have noticed a slight decline in my supply. My LO wants to eat a lot but has been refusing bottles of breast milk. We had talked about doing formula during the day and breastfeeding at night around six months but I'm wondering if I should start it sooner (she's 12 weeks Wednesday).</p> <p>I don't mind breastfeeding at night but during the day when she loves to eat all the time (not just in growth spurts), I'd love for someone else to be able to feed her. Also, honestly, I'm just not comfortable nursing in public, especially since it can take her up to an hour to an hour and a half to eat. </p> <p>I would probably want to still nurse at bed, any night time feedings, and in the morning. I'd also possibly pump once a day to mix in with the formula. I'm still going to think about it before definitely deciding. I just think I may be happier if it works.</p> <p>Thoughts? </p>
