After almost the whole week they finally put posters up. They are definitely not the same kind of dog owner I am but she belonged to him so we had to say good bye. My kids were a little sad but. Had been explaining to them all along that she had a home somewhere that we were trying to find. One of my twins even had me rewrite his letter to Santa to ask if she could stay at our house. Who could deny that little face?! I'll never understand how anyone abandons their animals either. I heard some really sad stories regarding owners leaving their animals behind when Sandy hit us. Rescuers did a great thing by getting the animals off our shores and sending them to a shelter. I found out that the neighbor across the street was the second one who had her for a night. They locked her outside and she cried all night so they let her go. We had heard by some neighborhood kids that the previous owners tried to kill/drown the dog by throwing it off the bridge. Puggles aren't exactly street dogs! He looks so cute and if he gets along with the family, it's SO great that you are keeping him. Poor little guy, but lucky him for finding a new home. </p> <p>The cat we had growing up found us-- he came up to my parents are they were heading out for the evening, and they left us kids home alone with a cute cat on the doorstep-- obviously we let him in!! And my parents' old dog wandered into their backyard while my dad was outside. She seems to respond to it so I guess we will just keep her name. We tried to ask our boys if their wanted to picked a new name. They just kept saying we want to call her her name, what is it? I told them she was called Sasha before. They said well if that's her name we should call her that. No tags and he brought the dog back to the pool several times to see if he would wander home, but he continued to follow my dad around. I definitely would take in a dog or cat as long as they seemed to fit with our family and we had the resources! I think it's great that you've taken this dog in!</p> <p>Also, our dog is a puggle who we got from a shelter when he was two years old and had been left behind because of a move. My dad and over and said a do had followed him into the yard. He said it had a tag but he couldn't read it. I went out with my phone thinking I was going to call the owner and get her home. Well it was a microchip tag so I called the company. They said "is she a fawn colored pug blend". I said yes. Then she proceeded to tell me how the owners had moved to San Diego and left her. Someone had called her in the day before but when they found out she was abandoned they just let her go.</p> <p>My heart broke to hear this little dogs I was very careful with her and properly introduced her to our dogs and slowly to our kids. I tried to see I anyone I knew wanted her but the one person who was interested eventually said no. She has been with us now for two days and I think she might be staying with us. </p> <p>She is a beautiful puggle, she is great with kids and our other dogs. I just can't understand how people can abandon their dogs? They could have a least taken it to a shelter. </p> <p>That brings our total up to four kids and three dogs. We must be out of our minds.
