@birdofafeather: I'm hoping this is just a fluke thing this year, with the start of public schooling. But, I'll keep that in mind if we end up with more issues.

Glad he was brought in! Side note: have you thought of bringing him to a chiropractor? They can do wonders for kids with frequent ear infections!

ETA: I mean to prevent ear infections in the future!

I did Urgent Care...he was the only one there, so I got him in and out and he was only 30 min late for school.

@CarrieLouWho: Kidmed sounds interesting, but no. His insurance makes the cost the same no matter where we go. I'm kinda thinking that all the sickies won't be at urgent care this early in the morning.

I vote peds, mostly because it will keep your cost down & urgent care is full of sickies. If DS seems ok, then I think peds should be good.
Our town does have a KidMed that's just for kids urgent care - do you have anything like that if you're thinking urgent care?

This morning ds woke up with his 4th ear infection since October. It's also his fourth ear infection EVER. Since starting Kindergarten, we've become way more acquainted with his pediatrician than ever. We used to be once a year well visitors.

His ped office is good at getting him right in...the down side is that they don't even open until 8:30, so I have 3 hours of keeping him entertained until I can even call. I'm half tempted to just take him to urgent care since it's closer and open now. He votes urgent care, but he's 5, his vote doesn't hold much. Which would you do?
