@Mae: oh for sure! She's less of a hater than she was as a baby, but in crowd of 2 year olds she is always the biggest hater.

Don't stress! My daughter didn't crawl until almost 11 months and didn't walk until 15 months! She's 2.5 yrs old now and a crazy hurricane girl who runs, jumps, and climbs everything!

I was trying to be patient but silently freaking out that my daughter wasnt doing very much at 10 months. She started crawling at exactly 11 months and pulling herself up right around then too. She's now a year and very close to walking. she never really scooted much, just went straight to full on crawling.

DS didn't crawl, pull up on anything or put himself in a sitting position until 12.5 months. He had zero interest in any kind of mobility. I spent so much of his first year stressing about it and wish I could get back that mental energy. He's 3 now and you would have no idea he was so late. Wish I could slow him down a bit :silly: I know it's so hard in the moment but try to enjoy the ride. I spent so much time obsessing about milestones, but it didn't do anything to make him meet them any sooner - just drove me nuts!

My daughter waited until close to 10 months to crawl and didn't take her first steps until 14 months. There is definitely a range for normal. At such a young age it is more important that they are building on their own development (according to our pediatrician).

both my boys didn't do much moving at all until 1. LO#1 didn't roll much until closer to then, too, when he started army crawling. they walked at 15months and 13months and were running a few weeks later. they are 2 and 3 years old now and the most athletic toddlers I know! they were both big babies so I think they were just happy to sit and be weighed down by their chubbiness :). if your doctor isn't worried, I wouldn't be! :)

My LO didn't learn to crawl until almost exactly 9 months. She didn't do any kind of army crawl or anything prior. She did have a weird butt hop she would do but I'm not sure that counts. She figured out how to sit up from her tummy at about 8.5 mo. Which then meant she could pull up in her crib. All of this was a crazy explosion and she had her worst sleep regression (because she could now sit on her own in her crib after we put her down and pull up and cruise, ah!). And now she's back to her normal sleep and walking like a champ at (almost) 12 mo. I wouldn't worry!

I didn't even know there were 8 month milestones to look up lol. At the 8mo mark my LO was not crawling, scooting, or pulling up. I don't even know what rolling from tummy to sitting means? She could sit independently and get there by herself (that happened at 7.5 mo).

But by 9mo she was crawling, standing independently without holding onto anything, and trying to walk. Which at our 9mo appt our doc thought was all early. So I'd say you're good.

@CatchAFallingStar: um, sort of? It wasn't her first missed milestone by any means - she didn't ever smile or laugh, didn't roll, never had a phase where she was comfortable with anyone other than me, wouldn't take a bottle or soother, wouldn't play with toys. I just thought she had a strange personality more than anything - she was my little hater. That said, I didn't have any concerns about muscle tone or cognition and she was being followed by her doctor and we would have done intervention if it had been recommended. But she caught up totally and now is totally average in all areas she was behind on.

My LO crawled at 9 months, pulled up around 10 months, and then cruised for a long time until he started walking at 14.5 months. He's a perfectly normal almost 2 year old now!

@CatchAFallingStar: there is usually a range for "typical" development of skills and the milestones that we hear of are around averages. So a baby typically crawls around 9 months but anything from probably 7-10 months is still considered typical development.

My first didn't do any of those things at 8 months and she's 3 yrs old now and perfectly fine. She didn't crawl until 10 months, pulled herself up around 11.5 months, walked at 13.5 months.....all within normal parameters! I know it's hard not to worry, but 8 months sounds really, really young for doing all of that stuff!

I just looked up "8 month milestones" and my baby girl isn't doing a few of them. She's not crawling or scooting. She's not pulling herself up onto furniture. She doesn't roll over from tummy to sitting. I'm really worried. Anyone else experience this?
