Thank you Ssoo so much everyone!@Maysprout: it's good to know that its way weaker version! @mrs. bird: thank you that's a great resource!!! I'm finally home with baby and got her to nap so I can reply
So we went to the clinic where she got the shot and they called the manufacturer of the vaccine. They said that travelers' clinics get all their recommendations by calling the makers of each vaccine. Anyway they said that there are no indications that babies are at risk and that they don't know why pediatric office told me to go get her and keep her away. possibly the pediatric office was going by live shingles guidelines (since there had no guidelines for typhoid)?
Nurse had Told me to Watch for stomache distention fever and GI symptoms which I still will but manufacturer and the pamphlet with vaccine said no indications that it's unsafe. PHEW!

honestly, GPs and pedis are usually not well informed on such matters. i would call a travel medicine office, they are familiar with the types of vaccines your sister would be getting right now for her trip and can advise you of any known risks. here's a listing for one you could call, but there are plenty of others if you aren't able to get in touch with them

I agree to speak with the doctor over a nurse and call around to see if you can find out more information.

Is there anyway you can get in touch with the pediatrician?
I wouldn't worry too much - the live viruses are weakened into a more mild version - it would suck to get, but not the same thing as typhoid. You may want to ask her about if she was kissing baby a lot to assess how much LO was exposed. But I'd try and talk to your pediatrician or someone who's had experience with the vaccine and isn't just looking up info on the web.

So my sister who is right now watching LO just texted me "oh sh*t. Just realized I probably shouldn't be around babies if I just got a live typhoid vaccine" (she's traveling). She called CVS, pharmacy where she got it, and they told her it was ok. But I called pediatrician office and the nurse said to go get her, that she should not be around LO.
When I asked how long to quarantine, she said "it's unclear " . (I guess she was in a database?) that the live vaccine is not good around compromised individuals and because LO is 12 months, that places her in that category. And to be safe, a week without her.

Should I be freaking out? Cause I am! Anyone
Know anything else about this? Nurse seemed unclear
