I got started via my full-time job, but I'd suggest getting a LinkedIn profile going and being active on there. For the past couple of years I have been mostly SAH but I have also worked on a VERY loose basis for a friend of mine doing some light editing/proofreading/writing. Over the summer I started working from home for about 10 hours a week as a remote assistant to a mom who owns a cleaning company, just responding to emails and scheduling appointments...things like that. I really like the freelance life and I like being an assistant but ultimately I would like to pursue something like resume writing or even grant writing. My youngest is 2 now so I am starting to think about what I want to do long term and I was just wondering if anyone out there freelances like this..how did you get started, how it's going, etc. </p>
