At least in my opinion. </p> <p>This happened to us a bunch of times. The fridge broke. Landlord "fixed it". Broke again a few months later. Bought us a "refurbished" fridge. Broke again a month later. Bought us a new fridge. We were not able to salvage our food 2x and the last time, we caught it early so we transferred over our freezer things to our deep freezer. But almost everything in our fridge was lost. By the 2nd time, I asked for $200 off our rent to cover the loss of our foods since his fix didn't work and neither did the refurbished model. So we got $200 + another $200 off our rent. Hopefully you have renter's insurance. That typically would cover it but it may not be worth it for the cost of food vs deductible, if you have one. Worth a call to your insurance company. It was a nice surprise from an exceptionally wonderful landlord.
