Thawed milk can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
http://www.llli.org/faq/milkstorage.html
Although, before i knew that, I definitely had some in the fridge for several days and LO drink it and is fine.

I use Sensible Lines milk trays
http://www.amazon.com/Sensible-Lines-20060401-Milk-Trays/dp/B000ZK3YBC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329443612&sr=8-1
and I love them! It is specifically for breast milk. It is great because you can thaw only as much as you think you'll need, and they can go right into bottles. It is slightly more work than the baggies, but not a big deal. And even though I'm using ziploc baggies to store the sticks in (quart size holds 24 oz), I feel like it is better for the environment because I'm not using all the small bags, and that was important to me.

I've personally only used the lansinoh bags, but I know I've seen "ice cube" type trays speciffically marketed for freezing breastmilk. I believe the cubes are said to be 1 oz and I agree with pp about transfering to freezer bags to prevent freezer burn. It would be similar to making your own baby food and storing :)

I agree with chopsuey. If you use icecube trays transfer them over to a ziplock bag after they're frozen so it doesn't get freezer burnt. I've never done it but it sounds like a good idea and works with solids.

Hmm. I only used Lansinoh (sp) milk bags.. I'm not sure about freezing in ice trays. You'd want something that freezes air tight..
Thawed milk lasts 3 days in the fridge (I think). Or you could always get snack sized ziplock bags or little food containers and freeze the milk in there. Something like this is 2 ounces each.

Has anyone frozen their breast milk in ice cube trays? Have been using the freezer bags up until now, but thinking of switching to be able to defrost only a couple cubes at a time instead of a whole bag full.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Are you glad you did it this way? What ice cube trays do you recommend?
