I've been dealing with similar but for me it's been yeast infections and not UTIs. I'm assuming it's a change in pH, flora/fauna, etc. but I feel your pain!

I had a mirena pre-children and that was the only time inmy life I have ever had UTIs. I had 3-4 in the year that I had it and none before or after. So based on my own experiences I say it could be mirena related - not sure how common it is though.

@LuLu Mom: I actually had the opposite thing happen so I think it could definitely be a change in your body chemicals and hormones. I had recurrent UTIs from the time I was a kid until I got pregnant with DD back in 2012. I've only had a couple of them since then.

You could ask for a referral to a urologist. They can do a study to make sure you're not having an issue with your bladder not emptying all the way or some other issue. When I was getting them frequently, my urologist gave me a prescription for several rounds of antibiotics to just have at home so I could start them when I first felt the symptoms instead of having to go in for an appointment every time.

I was having frequent UTIs and it ended up being IC. I was diagnosed by a urologist. http://www.ichelp.org Just something to keep in mind.

Ever since I gave birth 10 months ago, I have been having frequent UTIs. I go to the doctor, get an antibiotic and go on my way, until the next one pops up again a month later. I hardly ever got them before DD2. I'm wondering if it's because of a body change/ph balance change, or because I got Mirena this time? Anyone else suffer for these, have any advice?
