Sounds like migraines I get. I see a chirp and a neurologist. I did a course of physical therapy that helped a lot. I also bought a special pillow that fits the curve of my cervical spine. It was like $200 but so worth it. I'd worry about taking excedrin so often since it can sometimes cause rebound headaches. I'd go to your primary doctor and see if you can get a referral for either PT and/or a referral to a neurologist. Be careful about narcotic painkillers which while they can help with the pain, they can cause horrid rebound headaches as well.

I get them from my neck-seeing a chiropractor helped immensely. The pain would start in my jaw, I would clench, mg shoulders would be painfully tight, my head would hurt. Something to think abou.

Sounds like a tension headache to me. I used to get frequent headaches and the worst were tension related. Owwww! Hope you feel better soon.

Eta: a tension headache always seems to be present... never goes away!

I'll go days with the same headache and it's usually from clenching my jaw at night. I just try to relax it and heat/massage my jaw before bed and try to be conscious of not clenching. It's probably stresss related though, I I usually have to basically wait it out. Hope you feel relief soon!

Ugh - I know how awful that can be. I had that for a long while. I would take Excedrin for the headache, it would go away and then I'd get one the next day. I've heard that taking too many meds can make the headaches recur more frequently. Don't know if this is happening to you but if you can get through without taking something (easier said than done, I know) maybe it will help break the cycle.

Sounds like tension headaches. Excedrin helps the most but you probably don't want to have to take it every day. Also any chance it could be sinus and allergy related? I get sinus headaches and found if I take Claritin or similar I don't get then nearly as bad, even if I haven't had "allergy" symptoms like runny nose

Acupuncture worked the absolute best for my headaches. I had it for about six weeks, once a week, and my almost daily headaches turned to maybe once a month. Amazing. But since yours just started I would see if it could be allergies too.

(I only ask this because I know you've also dealt with PPD): are you taking Zoloft? One of the common side effects from Zoloft is grinding/clenching your teeth at night, which causes pain in the areas you described. ETA: I took Zoloft for about 9 months without issue, and then began grinding my teeth at night. Once they switched me off Zoloft and onto something else, I stopped (and the headaches stopped).

Either way, it could be from grinding/clenching your teeth at night (from stress). You could try using an over the counter mouthguard at night for a few days and see if that makes any difference. A dentist can also pretty quickly and easily spot if you are a teeth clencher, and can also help you if that if the cause.

Chiropractic care helped me in the past when I had a lot of severe tension headaches.

Good luck!

Could it be related to your jaw, maybe? I realized that I was clenching my jaw at night when I sleep and it was causing intense headaches. Do you drink enough water? If it's not eyes or teeth, can you get into your regular doctor to check it out?

@loveisstrange: I used to get headaches all.the.time. Chiropractor helped some and they went away for a while and then post college when I stopped caffeine and cleaned up my diet they pretty much went away.

Do you think it's stress related? I know you've posted about military stuff that sounds stressful to me! I dot completely understand how biofeedback works but have heard a few people say it helped immensely for stress related pain

I'm sorry :( headaches and eye pain are the worst IMO.

Ive noticed more and more, particularly in the last month, that I seem to be having a LOT of headaches. I would say more often than not, I get them. I've had one every day for the past week. It's on both sides of my head. It's a dull, persistent pain instead of throbbing and it's located at my temples and behind my eyes. Sometimes it's at the base of my skull also, and my neck and shoulders get stiff. Pain medication doesn't seem to make a dent and there are times when I go to bed with one and wake up still hurting.

I don't know what to think about it. I've always been pretty susceptible to headaches, but never like this. I had an eye exam 2 weeks ago and the optometrist told me my optic nerves are red and looked possibly irritated, but she didn't know if it was normal or not for me.

I just am not sure what to do at this point. I'm so tired of being in pain. Sometimes I wake up with them and they last all day.
