@petitenoisette: yeah I guess it does seem worse when it's in the fridge longer. And yeah it takes ten seconds once the water is hot but sometimes it takes a while to heat up and I feel bad wasting water plus get impatient.

@regberadaisy: @hellobeeboston: just swishing or shaking isn't enough, especially if it's been in a fridge a couple days. Maybe my milk is really fatty.

I roll it between my hands, upright, pretty quickly. The hand warm/friction helps.

I do the same thing. It literally takes 10 seconds under hot water to get the fat to dissolve so in my unscientific estimation I don't think it's a problem. I do try to transfer to bags and freezer before they have been in the fridge too long (so if I know I want to freeze it by that night) because if I leave it in the fridge overnight the fat gets more solidified and I have to warm it up more.

I usually just swish it some in the bottle and that does the trick. Sometimes use a little hand warmth on the bottle.

Something I've been wondering about for a long time- if I have a bottle of freshly pumped milk in the fridge, then I want to move it to a bag to freeze, usually the thick fatty parts are stuck to the side of the bottle while cold. How do you make sure to get all that good stuff when you pour into the freezer bag? I usually run the closed bottle under hot water just so the bottle itself warms up, and the solid parts swirl into the rest of the milk. But I'm definitely warming it up a little. Problem? Is there any easier way?
