I bought myself and a friend a bracelet to wear everyday that honored the memory of my and her baby. I wear it everyday and it makes me feel so much better because I know even though small that baby was important! I ordered it from etsy.

Not quite the same, but when my mom was dying a friend sent me a box of gourmet caramel apples. I can't say I've ever had something similar delivered before and they were delicious. It was kind of nice seeing my them unexpected arrive and helped take my mind off everything going on in a way.

@catlady: This is EXACTLY how I felt. The fact that my friend who was closest to me completely ignored what I was going through added so much to the pain I was feeling. I'm still not over it. All I needed was a hug and maybe her asking if I was okay - I think I would have received more love and care if I had said I had the flu...

When I had a miscarriage my friend sent me a box of chocolate covered strawberries. It was a lovely thought but I couldn't eat them - they felt somehow like tragedy-food.

When I miscarried at 12 weeks, I received a comfort package of an adult coloring book, some colored pencils, ice cream, Gatorade, a puzzle, and a few restaurant gift cards. I liked the junk food, and the gift cards for takeout were nice so we didn't have to cook while I was recovering from surgery and grieving.

Best gift was my parents and DH taking over everything and I stayed in bed for 2 days to recover, cry and take time to grieve. Other than that it was good delivered.

:crying: I am so sorry for your friend. Must have been so heartbreaking esp when she's finishing up 1st trimester. Maybe a gift certificate for mani/pedi if she's into it? Might be good to just get her out of the house and do something for herself.

The only thing I've ever received were chocolates, which I really appreciated. Honestly, all I ever really wanted after miscarrying was for people to give me a hug and tell me that they they were sorry for my loss. It's amazing how people can't even seem to do that.

I didn't receive anything when I miscarried, but when I had a stillbirth people brought meals, snacks, beer, and a massage gift certificate. Comfort food and chocolate were nice.

My friend confided in me that she had a miscarriage at 12 weeks last weekend. She is also our photographer and was supposed to take 1 year pictures for us so she obviously needed to cancel. My heart breaks for her, we rescheduled our pictures for next week and I want to give her a little something. What is the best thing you received?
