@Ree723: Thanks for the info!! Sounds like he's probably all set, though I'll call my pediatrician to double check! :)

@Adira: So far as I know, the next booster isn't until age 4, so he should be fully vaccinated now... It definitely isn't a part of the 12 or 18 month vax and those are the only ones we have after the 2, 4, and 6 month shots until they hit age 4. Of course this is going by the Australian vaccination schedule but I'm pretty sure it's the same as the US.

@Ree723: He has had all his vaccinations on time. I was actually just trying to look up his immunization records to check, but the server is being sooooooooooo slow. Bleh! Do you know if it's the three vaccinations that give "full" immunity? There's not another one at 9/12 months that he needs to be fully protected?

If he's had his vaccinations on time, he should have had three doses of the whooping cough vaccine by now. From my understanding (I could be completely wrong), I don't think the vax totally prevents you from getting it, I think it just means it will be a much milder case if you (Xander) do contract it. Still a call to the pedi to ask what signs to look for probably wouldn't go amiss.

Hoping you all stay healthy!

@Foodnerd81: Yeah, I wasn't sure how the vaccine works since they get multiple shots of it! I'm not sure if he's fully vaccinated against it now or not. I'll definitely call the pediatrician, but they're not open yet, so I haven't called yet.

I forget about how that vaccine works- when is he fully vaccinated against it?

I'd probably call the ped and mention it, since it can be such a big deal, but my gut says since he's an older baby and vaccinated it's probably fine? But def call the dr and mention it.

I just found out that my BFF's MIL has whooping cough. She watches my BFF's daughter a couple times a week and Xander and I just had breakfast with my BFF and her daughter this past weekend. Her daughter was all over Xander, hugging and giving him kisses. As far as I know, the daughter isn't showing any signs of whooping cough, but as a precaution, they are having her treated just in case.

Xander's only 7.5 months. Should I be concerned?
