I was a 5 when we got to the hospital. They put in my epi and I got checked and was an 8. I was a 10 about 20 minutes later and then they just let her labour down for an hour until it was time to push.

It took me 30 hours to get to a 5 though :bummed:

I was about 4 when I got to triage and before they were done with all the questions and monitoring, I could feel him coming down and crowning. They moved me to L&D and as soon as I got into the room, they were telling me to push. I had opened up so fast that it was too late for an epidural :bummed: I pushed for maybe 30 minutes before LO2 was born.

For reference, I pulled up into the hospital at 3:15am and he was born at 5:00am!

Same for me except without an epidural went from a 6 to 10 in less than ten minutes and baby was out less than ten minutes later. My ob didn't even make it in time and he's just in the building attached to my hospital!

Both of my births were exactly like this. I got the epidural at 7 the first time around and immediately went to ten and was pushing within a few minutes, she was out in about 45 minutes. With the second, I was at 4 when they checked me, got the epidural and went straight to 10 and pushed the little guy out in two pushes. I arrived at the hospital around 3 am and he was out at 5 am.

I think I was at 4 cm when I got to the hospital with my second. I was in triage and asking for a tub because that had helped with pain with my first, but I was pushing before they could even fill up the tub. 45 minutes from parking the car to baby. No epidural (definitely wouldn't have been time if I wanted it!).

5-10cm in 30 minutes. Baby was out in 5 minutes, just 3 pushes. SO much better than my first, which took 3 hours of pushing!

Not nearly THAT fast but it took me 8 hours to get from 0 to 2 when I was induced. I asked for an epidural a few hrs after my water broke and within 4 hours I went from 2 to 8.

My mother had my brother within 3 hours of being at the hospital. They had to hold her back from pushing. No epidural.

Similar, I was at a 4 at 5:30 in the morning, after getting the hospital a few hours earlier. At 7 I started pushing, although I still wasn't quite a 10 yet.

I was a 4 right before getting my epidural. After getting it, they let me rest for an hour before checking again, and I was shocked when they said I was a 10 and could start pushing. LO was born about 20 min after (probably could have been faster but we literally were waiting for the midwife to get there). So not as fast as your friend, but yeah, that basically happened to me.

My epidural didn't expedite the process but when the dr broke my water, I went from a 5 to 10 in like 30 min! Had to wait for OB to arrive to deliver her.

It took me a while to get to a 5.... But then I went from a 5 to delivered in 33 minutes. All while my epidural was failing on my left side and they were trying to fix it. It was bananas.

Me. I was 5cm when I decided I wanted an epi. When the anesthesiologist got there 15 minutes later I was fully dilated. My whole labor from first contraction to baby was 45 minutes.

I went from 4 to 7 right after they put the epidural in (10 minutes?) then she broke my water and I was nine a few minutes after that. But it did take me a couple hours to deliver after that because I had a lip of cervix that wouldn't go away and then pushing took 40 minutes as his cord was short and he got a little stuck.

Ha, my second was this way. I was a 3 in triage and a 4 when I got a room upstairs. I told them I felt like pushing 20 minutes later and they told me that was impossible. Then they started to panic because the baby's heart rate dropped and called in a whole mess of doctors. Turns out it was because I was already at a 10 and ready to go. The epidural didn't kick in until after she was born. She was born 45 minutes after getting there at a 3.

We went and visited a close friend yesterday in the hospital and she was telling me about her crazy birth story! She went to be induced and was 3 at the time she went in. when she got to 4 cm, they gave her the epidural. As soon as the epidural was in she was like "I feel the urge to push" and they are like no way, let see where you are now (she's a nurse) and yep in the 15 minutes she went from 4 cm to 10 and baby came 15 minutes later! the nurse said "wow that's the fastest we have ever had!" Anyone else have a crazy fast story?
