I would have a very very hard time NTNP. For us, I feel like it is all or nothing with TTC--I just can't ignore what I know at this point! So, I definitely second the "stay off of Google!" unless you want to be in full-fledged TTC mode.

For what it is worth, the panic sets in big time when you do actually get pregnant, but it is totally worth it for the outcome!

ETA: my best advice would be to not waste a bunch of money on pregnancy tests. The cheapies work just fine. Save your money for the fun baby stuff!

Thank you, @simplyfelicity! Totally avoiding Google searches...And some of the boards here, lol! I've taken tons of Child Development & Infant themed classes for my degree, and I remember LOVING learning about pregnancies and all the "fun" stuff that goes along with it. I thought watching birthing videos were fascinating, and even at 13 years old I watched my mom deliver my brother. So. Cool. (I don't even watch gory movies, haha) BUT, now that it's almost time for my own family, I'm in panic mode. All that stuff is still kinda cool, but way more scary. I interview mothers about pregnancy, labor & delivery for work and it's fascinating, but when I think about myself in that scenario I freak. I've also felt physically and emotionally prepared for a while, so I don't get it. Sorry, rant over

I've stopped the pill, started prenatals, and we're just being careful and winging it for now!

Welcome! If you truly don 't want to TTC right now and just keep it a stress free NTNP, I would avoid a lot of Google searches about cycles, phases of cycles, cervical mucus, suppliments, TTC friendly lube temping, OPKS, etc because you can't unlearn something. There is SO MUCH out there about TTC that it can be really overwhelming. DH and I weren't going to TTC until July but we pulled the goalie in April and I dove in headfirst, I wish I had just kept it chill and didn't research so much.

Monologue aside, :silly: if getting pregnant right away isn't a concern, I would just aim to BD ("baby dance" aka have sex) every other day (EOD) from around cycle day 10 to cycle day 20. If your cycles are significantly shorter or longer, I would adjust accordingly. TTC can be a cluster "f" in the brain, so try to make it fun.

Hi all, I'm pretty new to this community. Still trying to learn the lingo & abbreviations :) DH & I have discussed babies for years. We've finally reached a point in our lives where we are transitioning from just talking to NTNP (not especially ttc). It's kind of overwhelming now that it's our time! Aside from financial preparations, prenatals, home preparations, healthy eating/living & knowing that NTNP can give fast or slow results, what else should be considered, or what advice might you have? I like to be prepared & don't know what I'm forgetting, so any advice would be appreciated!
