I only had one friend who was annoyed I didn't tell him until 15 weeks, and that's because we are on a council together and it does kind of severely impact how we plan for the next year. I work in a 3 person satellite office - I told them at 8 weeks because I was really sick and because I would need to tell them if something went wrong and I was going to be out of the office. I told my immediate boss at 12 weeks because I wanted to give a ton of warning so they could prep for maternity leave. My boss didn't tell many of my other coworkers so I told one of them and then another saw me at an event and was like, "whoa!" but not upset that I hadn't told her. </p> <p>I work in a courthouse where I work closely with a lot of other people. I was wearing maternity pants and loose fitting clothes from week 13 onward, so around week 15 people started to ask if I was pregnant. I could have hidden it a bit longer by going up a shirt size and wearing the demi-panel maternity pants (the gap ones are pretty nice) because they kind of sit on top of the belly instead of emphasizing it. If you are clearly not trying to emphasize it, most of your coworkers will be polite enough to not say anything, I hope. I don't think they will be upset that you waited, particularly if you explain (not that you need to) that twins are a higher risk and you wanted to make sure things were okay.</p> <p>Are you doing an NT test? Usually with twins, they will do that because it's high risk, right? I felt pretty comfortable sharing the news once we got the all-clear on that, but we didn't make a Facebook announcement until I was 20 weeks. You may find that you feel more comfortable sharing the news earlier anyway - I had my own mental limit where once I got past it, I was comfortable - also, once you get to a certain point, if something goes wrong, you will probably need to take some time off work and need your coworkers to not be jerks about it. I'm currently pregnant with IVF twins. I told close friends and family and close coworkers right away. Similar to @twodoghouse, our friends and family and some coworkers knew we were doing ivf so they naturally wanted to know how it went. We did a Facebook announcement around 15 weeks, and another gender reveal announcement at 18 weeks. I thought I was definitely showing by 18 weeks but some ppl said they couldn't really tell I was pregnant. Congrats to you! I told my mom the day I got a positive test, lol, and then some friends at 11 weeks bc we were all having dinner together and it was obvious I wasn't drinking. Everyone else I waited until after 12 weeks. Out situation was a bit unique and we ended up doing CVS testing, so once I got the results from that back, I just slowly started telling people. Specifically kept it off social media. I have nearly 11 week old IVF twins. Because a lot of people knew we were going through IVF, we told family, friends and some close coworkers immediately. I made a "public" announcement at work and on Facebook at 12 weeks. By then everyone at work already suspected because I had already gotten big. However, my sister is pregnant with twins right now (also IVF babies) and she did not tell people at all until much later. She is tall and very slim and wasn't obviously pregnant until 16-18 weeks. Her coworkers were shocked she was having twins because she was so small. So you might be able to get away with telling later. Good luck!
