You need to start rotating through the stash - it's only good for 3-6 months in a regular freezer, 6-12 months in a deep freeze. So like others said, cycle in a bag a day. Alternatively (or in addition) to that, 1000 oz is A LOT OF MILK, so I would strongly recommend looking into places where you can donate it. I ended up donating almost 300 oz to a local organization that gives donated milk to NICU preemies.

Wow great job!!! Could you start cycling in 1 frozen bag a day, meaning an older frozen bag? That is kind of what I did. That way my frozen stash never got too old...

Just get one bag out every evening and send it in place of fresh bottle the next day and then freeze the milk that would have been sent to daycare.

Absolutely still use it! My daughter is almost 18 months and I wish I still had some BM because she's going through a cold and ear infection.

Great job! Glad you are able to pump, nurse, and still build up your stash. I'd start cycling through so that whenever you do stop pumping, your frozen milk is only ever about 6 month old. I used to send the oldest frozen milk to day care on Monday and freeze everything pumped on Friday.

No it’s not bad. You can definitely give an older baby milk from when she was a few months old. I’d freeze your fresh stuff as you produce it and use up your older stuff.

I did it. I also would cycle through the frozen milk, so send the oldest frozen with baby and freeze everything I pumped. It helped keeping milk fresh. I was over producing at 6 months, but now at 14 months we use a lot of frozen milk and will run out soon. I just stopped pumping.

Ok, long time, no post (#workingmom).
I started building up my stash when DD was about 2 months. I have probably over 1000 ounces. Thing is, she is 6 months now and we have NEVER used any of it. I produced more than enough for her at daycare, nurse her, and still freeze some each day. My original plan was to use my stash when I decided to stop pumping. But I haven’t done that and don’t plan on stopping any time soon. Is it bad to give an older baby milk that was pumped when she was 2-3 months old? I know milk changes to support the baby’s needs, so I don’t want to give her something that isn’t going to give her enough nutrients for her age. What should I do? TIA
