They did "clean" his teeth though, which involved a thorough brushing (not with the electric thing, but with an actual toothbrush), flossing (I really can't floss his teeth at home), and that was pretty much it. Our next appt. is in August, before we will re-enroll in insurance, so we'll pay the full amount, but that's fine. I just needed an acknowledgment and clarification. But with insurance it's free! I think the policy is that initial visits are $25. I do remember who told me, and we had to go around about another issue (not in a bad way, just in a way that I think he'd remember the conversations) the first time, so I'm hoping he'll remember and at least reduce it. Actually, I don't care so much that he reduce it as that he takes responsibility for having said that. I should have commented to that effect before - I'd most definitely be pissed if they quoted me another price. Do you remember who you talked to about the price? Maybe you can specify that receptionist 'mary' told me it was $25 per visit under age three. I'm mostly miffed he told us that all visits under 3 were $25 and then, not so much. If I'd known they'd be this expensive, we would have added DS to our dental insurance. We didn't have dental insurance for him, and asked the cost. The guy told us "all visits before 3 are $25." Great! We went and paid that for his first visit. I took him for his second visit today and when it was over, they said $104! I asked them to check on insurance and we don't have any for DS. It took them a couple hours to get back to me, and by the time I got the message, they're closed until Monday (he did randomly tell me he reduced it to $74). Although I do think $74 is crazy for someone to look at his teeth for 30 seconds and apply fluoride, it's more that he specifically told us the visits before 3 were $25. In fact, it was instrumental in us making our decision not to put DS on our dental insurance until 3. Now I'm frustrated!</p> <p>So, mostly, this is a vent, but what do visits cost you for under 3 when there are no X-rays or cleaning? </p>
