I use (and love) the Polar F4 for working out and I wear a fitbit One for everything else.

Thanks everyone! For what I am willing to spend, I am going with a Polar monitor.

The Fitbit Charge HR and the Fitbit Surge are currently the only fit bits that track heart rate. I have the Charge HR which is great for day to day but i'm not sure how much i trust it for workouts.... If often misses steps (especially when pushing a stroller or cart) and misses flights of stairs if i'm carrying something (like a kid)

I recommend looking into a Polar Heart Rate Monitor. It has a band that you wear on your chest and wristwatch. They are much more accurate for high intensity exercise but are not meant to be worn 24/7. I had the polar F4 years ago and it worked awesome for in the gym.

I'm a long time fitbit user and I've had different models. The best option right now is the fitbit charge HR. They only have two models that track actual heart rate and it's the charge HR and the surge. I love my charge HR, and find the HR monitor aspect to be accurate. Have worn it on my treadmill with my chest strap and gotten very similar results. If you have any specific questions about fitbit I would be happy to answer them!

I have a Jawbone UP 24, and I have to manually enter all non-walking/running workouts, so don't think it would fit the bill for you.

I use the FitBit Flex, which tracks your calories and your heart rate. When your heart rate goes up those spikes count towards "Active Minutes" and a good way to judge how much effort you're putting into a workout. FitBit can be worn all the time even when you shower.

Does anyone use a fitness tracker, like a FitBit or a Jawbone?

While browsing this morning, I've come across a bunch of options, including discontinued models and also knockoff versions. All I need it for is calorie burn tracking. I am doing HIIT spinning workouts at home and I don't have a fitness monitor on my spin bike, so I was thinking I could get one of those fitness bands.

Ideas for me? Thanks!
