They really like being outdoors now that the weather is nice. They spend time on the patio blowing bubbles, pushing the buggy around, bouncing a rubber ball around, sidewalk chalk etc. We take 15 minute walks to get some vitamin D. We hardly ever go the playground because we would have to get in the car and they go to the playground 2x a day at day care.

What about an eye spy walk, where you have to find 6 specific things before you turn home. Then you are kind of mixing it up a little? Maybe try a different route or neighbourhood to look for different things?

Can you just go to the pool to swim, even if there isn't a lesson? We do that, as well as 'nature' walks to watch birds, look at trees, etc. Or we go to a ball field and toss around a softball.

My LO loves being outside, so something as simple as going to check the mail has evolved into a long process that can involve the push trike, looking for cats, searching for rocks, pointing out birds, etc. She also loves water so sometimes she "helps" DH water and enjoys that. We also have dance parties sometimes while we wait for dinner to be done.

Last summer DD enjoyed going for walks/rides on her push trike, going to the duck pond, and helping us in the yard (weeding, watering, etc...).

Both my husband and I work outside the home. We are lucky to get off at 4:30, and we are home with our LO by about 5:15. She doesn't go down to bed until about 7:30 or 8. Lately we are very much just stuck in the same rut of coming home to cook dinner and play at home. I like that she actually gets some time at home to play with her toys but I would also like to find small fun things we can do in the evenings.

We have a park nearby and now that we have more daylight, we could possibly swing through there for a while. We are also going to start swim lessons in May so we will see how that goes.

Any other suggestions for things you can do in that short window of time? I usually plan meals ahead so dinner time doesn't take us long.
