Quality time with my husband (and the dog).
Resting/taking naps.
Whatever hobbies you enjoy solo that take up more than an hour at a time.

I actually had a lot of people visit during my maternity leave so I still had time to bake, sew, or design projects on the computer. Ever since the 3 month mark, I've been trying to squeeze things in to 20 minute increments. I also had a lot of time to watch TV when he was small because he didn't care. Currently I have to watch Once Upon A Time in 5 installments to cover an episode :silly:

I got a pedicure, wrote the baby a letter, made the most of my time with DH (just the two of us), watched a bunch of TV, and just totally vegged. I know you can't store up rest, but it was nice to go into labour being nice and relaxed.

@Mae: This is something I'd really like to focus on. In the month before I got pregnant with this baby we really focused on our relationship and being close again, which I'm so glad we did because we'd gone through trying times at that point and little did we know pregnancy would be even tougher.

In the last month my husband and I made a point of just spending a TON of time together. We went to all our favorite restaurants again, we saw a ton of movies, and we just spent a LOT of time hanging out at our house just 1 on 1. I am soooo glad we did that. I feel like we built up a lot of extra good will in our relationship that last month that we're really needing now in these first few weeks postpartum. Not that my husband wouldn't be awesome regardless I'm sure... but I think it helps that we focused so much on our relationship right before f was born, because it helps keep us focused on it now too. Even in the throws of some heavy life drama right now, we still find a little time every day to cuddle bc we know that THAT is the thing that is going to keep us sane in the midst of everything else we're dealing with.

I got a pedicure a couple days before going into labor (I was kinda hoping it would kick start labor...I ended up losing my mucus plug that night!) It was nice and relaxing...I finished reading a book I had during it

DH and I went out to eat a lot the week or two before hand...I'm glad we did because we don't really go out for dinner anymore!

@Raindrop: @MsLipGloss: Ooh, just in time - we switched cable providers recently and I can catch up on season finales!

@Foodnerd81: I think I have ingredients waiting on the counter to make granola bars, and I can make another batch of Korean postpartum soup for the freezer. And my toes could use a polish change! I'm not liking the blue I got last time!

@swedishfish: Does online shopping count

Pedicure! It was nice to start out with nice clean pretty feet. I'm pretty sure I didn't remove that polish until C was like three months old!

I really like cooking, so I enjoyed preparing a whole bunch of freezer meals. But if you don't like cooking and it's a chore, don't bother.

Oh and pick out a few favorite birth announcements. That way once you have your fave pics you can just choose from your favorites instead of a million options. (If you want to do birth announcents).

I was pretty bored during my last month. In Cali you get 4 weeks before your due date off. It was kind of a blur. I remember binge watching drop dead diva. That was fun.

Especially after the whole deal with being on preterm labor watch since March, I'm tired of thinking about when it's going to happen! I've already done the whole nesting deal, nursery is done, I've cleaned the house (mostly) and am too crampy to do much more.

So I'd love to find some fun distractions to make the most of whatever time I have left of life without baby! Even if I don't think I'm up for going out and walking around. What are you glad you did or do you wish you had done in the days before LO arrived?
