My cousins family always takes the big event of the year and makes a funny card based off of that. Think the boy in the balloon event, prisoners doing thriller, etc.

@TemperanceBrennan: basically, what I did was think of what I would write as a short yearly update. Then, I removed the parts of speech that I wanted and filled it in with a less serious version of events.

I don't have a draft handy, unfortunately.

@TemperanceBrennan: Definitely gotta know your group for that one! I'm pretty religious, but don't celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday, AND I'm pretty nerdy, so I'd love it :)

Also, I was going to make a cheeky card for close friends that reads "Axial tilt is the reason for the season". Would you be offended if you got this card? I think I know my friends well enough that they wouldn't be, but I don't want to be insensitive.

I'm sifting through ideas for Holiday cards this year, and I'm feeling a lot of pressure to come up with something funny.

The first year we did the crazy ugly clip art that our friends seemed to really like and set a precedent for future years. We have done silly photo shoots with our pets, ugly sweater pictures of us, and last year we did a more traditional newlywed photo card.

I don't want to do a photo card, and I design the cards myself, so I was going to go with a cheesy pun like: "How to snowmen travel? By icicle." with a cute illustration of a snowman riding a bicycle. I kind of like it, but I'm not set on it.

Any other funny/clever/cute ideas? I found a few I like on etsy, but since I'll be making my own, I don't want to outright copy any I find.
