Our puggle is named Brutus. My husband says he's a girly dog so we thought he needed a manly name to make up for it. And, I'm a pretty big history nerd so I wanted something historical. Brutus it is.

Our blue heeler is named Diesel. My husband's family has a history of owning heelers and they are always named Blue. If Blue died they got another one and named him Blue 2 (or 10, 18, 22, etc). My husband either wanted to continue that tradition or be funny and name him Red (since there are also red heelers). I vetoed both those and we settled on Diesel. Husband isn't crazy about it and wishes we had named him Bocephus (think Hank Williams Jr.).

Jack Russell - Wrigley, but we call him Wrigs for short. We bought him from his previous owner when he was little less than 2 and didn't want to change his name.

Yellow Lab - Comet, got it from Full House. Original, I know.

1/2 Yorkie and 1/2 Pomeranian - Molly, don't recall how we came up with it.

Our dog is named Pedro-he came with the name (he's a rescue) and his foster mom named him Mr. Petey. That totally did not fit him so we changed it back to Pedro.

We have a coon hound mix that my husband named Jax. He thought it sounded like a dumb redneck name. It fits because Jax is pretty doofy. We call him Jax, Jaxi Boogs, Boogie, and Boogie Boo. We have a cat named Lara. I named her after Tomb Raider because of how crazy she climbed over the seats in the car when we picked her up. Lastly we have a Blue Merle Chihuahua named Leia. I named her after the Princess. :)

Well, my dog came from the shelter with the name "Babe" which we couldn't use because DH and I call eachother babe. So we kept trying all sorts of different names. One day, my hubby was making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and I said, "What about Jelly??" and I looked at her and said, "Jelly!" and she turned her head so it stuck! :) We call her Jellybean, Jelly Belly, Bellybean, lol.

We just adopted a cat and we had to name her Peanut Butter, but we actually call her "kitty" most of the time, lol. Sometimes we will call her PB.

Our next animal has to be Toast or Honey or Nutella! haha.

We have two Boston Terriers.

Clover we named after a song that we both happened to put on mixed cd's we made for each other when we were dating long distance - Crimson and Clover by Jimmy Eat World.

Thumper got her name because when she was younger, she would pound on the ground if she wanted something like a toy or our attention. She doesn't do it anymore but it fit and it stuck.

My peekapoo's name is Finley. I found it on a Facebook game years ago and always thought it would be a perfect puppy name. When we picked her, it just fit her! If she were a boy it was going to be Jasper.

Hubs likes "Tombstone" (the movie, not the frozen pizza), so we wanted something western-y. We adopted a Golden from the pound and named him Sheriff (I think Goldens would be the sheriffs of the canine world!).

Then a year later, we adopted another Golden and he was kind of an a-hole as first, so we named him Bandit.

Sheriff and Bandit :)

hahahaha....beer. That's how we came up with her name

I threw out heine for heineken my husband did not like that. Then we threw out Rona for Corona (forgot which one threw that out there). So that stuck!

She has so many nicknames though! We call her roniee, mongrel, mutt, monkey, I like to call her meow meow hahha. My husband said it gives her a complex but she responds! haha

My maltese/yorkie mutt is named Alfie, and my dachshund/miniature pinscher mutt is named Scooter. Our orange tabby cat is named Daisy. My roommate in LA helped me think of Alfie's name. My husband thought of Scooter's and Daisy's name. He always liked Scooter for a dog name, and I thought it was fitting for our little dude!

We have an ongoing list that changes weekly for LOs future name! That got me to thinking when we chose our names for our furbabies!

We have a beagle terrier named Bailey and a yorkie named Buddy!

Bailey's name was orig Chloe -- but I didn't like how it was too human-y?/girly, so we changed it to Bailey the day after we got her :)

Buddy's name just kind of stuck on its own. Dh was determined to come up with a name on his own and kept him at his place the first week. Dh never came up with a name that stuck, but kept referring to him as "hey buddy, don't eat that, hey buddy, let's go potty!, etc" and so the name kinda just stuck! :P

What are your furbaby(ies) names? How'd you come up with them?
