My son was always worse at night because he got the milk protein all day and it hurt a little at first and got worse until it hurt a lot. My son was much happier if he ate every 3 hours because it gave time to digest the food and stop hurting as much.</p> <p>Just because it was food for us does not mean it is food. And it may not be a severe issue either. And the first few times I had my hubby help me get my son in! It gets easier everytime you use.</p> <p>@Beebug: Also are you trying to get her to sleep when fussy? She might be fussy because overtired....try to soothe to sleep within 1.5 hours of wakes. </p> <p>Agree with the outside time. Perhaps it is something in your diet making her so fussy? Ok, that's something we could try! We do about 10 mins now, but shortening it is definitely something I am open to trying! We've used gas drops and burped every ounce (or about 5 mins on the breast) and spent at least 10 mins after the feeding is over burping her. We have many techniques! With him, I know it's because he's tired and just can't fall asleep. Standing, swaying, and jiggling him usually works, and then it's a careful attempt to put him down. I've heard this fussiness peaks at 6 weeks and then usually goes away by 12 weeks so here's hoping we're headed toward the worst, and it will only get better! And she is adorable, of course--is she smiling at you guys already? </p> https://boards.hellobee.com/topic/fuss-fuss-fuss#post-407702 Tue, 20 Nov 2012 12:19:19 +0000 Beebug 407702@https://boards.hellobee.com/ <p>LO is 4w+3d/1-month today, bless her heart, thank-god she is cute, this fussing business is tough on Mom &amp; Dad's heads.</p> <p>Twice last week we did 6 hours stints, otherwise it's just been 2-3 hours beginning around 4-5pm, but Sunday night it was 7 hours, last night 8 hours of fuss, fuss, fuss.</p> <p>We coincidentally got a Lucie's List email Sunday regarding fussing, so we are happy it's not just us, but is there anything we can do?!</p> <p>She is mostly a saint during the day, and sleeping fairly well in the night (once she settles....1-2am or so) on a good 3-hour feeding routine (give or take) and usually fairly easy to settle.</p> <p>It's so trying on the patience, I know this isn't supposed to be easy, but it's just really tough on the head as the hours drag on. Sometimes she will settle for 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes, but nothing for the night until 1am or so in these fussing stints. We have tried the paci, swinging, swaddling, laying, cradling, over the shoulder, laying her in her chair (we sit on the floor with her, and rock her a little), walking the stairs in our house, into the sling, etc, no way in heck will she go down in her bassinet once she does settle, she's a clingy chest baby or I have resorted to going into our spare room and laying with her (safely...! as safe as we can anyways) in the bed (I can't believe I am owning up to this, I said I never would do this!)</p> <p>She seems to be hanging on to burps more, I think? And some more spit up in the eve, she is ebf'ed. We just can't seem to get her comfortable, poor DH thinks she does this all day......thankfully she doesn't, but of course his limited time with her with his work day.....makes it tough for him too!</p> <p>I know it will pass, but just looking for any other things we might be able to try, or something I'm missing?!</p> <p>Adding some cuteness for fun......</p> <p>[attach=2471/12/mdsqs8.429x600.IMG_2576---Copy.JPG] </p>
