We are giving DD a double middle name because we each wanted to name our daughter after our grandmother and we aren't sure if we'll have another girl, so we're using both now that we have the chance.
Anyway, I say double middle name!

Jane Marie is pretty, but I'm not sure about the combo.

I do love Jane, but prefer Miriam to Marie.

Jane Miriam? Depends on your last name.

Jane Marie is pretty. Jane is my LO's middle name, so I'm a bit biased. I do think Evelyn is beautiful, too!! I think if you went with two middle names, Evelyn Jane Marie flows really nicely.

I don't like Marie Jane. It's too close to Mary Jane (name for pot and a character in Spiderman)

I would go with either Jane Marie, or Evelyn Marie. Or even Evelyn Jane Marie.

I was going to suggest Mary-Jane (either as a first or middle) - it's close enough to Marie that I think your mom would still be honoured.

@Eko: Would you consider Marie Jane? I love Marie as a first name, you hear it all the time as a middle but rarely as a first, and I think it has a classic flow to it.

@lady baltimore: I like the name Jane but just not as much as Evelyn. Marie is my moms middle name. Her first name is Sheilah and that doesn't go with anything lol. My grandmothers middle name is Elizabeth but that's my SIL name. I do agree that Jane Marie sounds better, but I think people will think two middle names is weird. Plus in my head the second middle name somehow doesn't seem as important as the first and I wouldn't want to insult my mom or anything. Really I just don't know lol.

I like Jane Marie, but only if you truly love Jane. I think Evelyn Jane Marie flows better than Evelyn Marie Jane, but that might depend a bit on your last name.

Any possibilities from your mom's or grandmother's middle or maiden names? I asked for help with family names, and a poster made me realize that we could use Eloise to honor both sides of the family (Ellen & Louise).

I just had my DS, but am thinking about future LOs, particularly hopeful future DD!

DH and I had a solid girls name picked out before we knew we were having a son. The girls name we picked out is Evelyn Marie. Evelyn because we absolutely love it and Marie after my mom. I never had any plans on changing this until my grandmother recently passed away. I absolutely loved her and am now thinking of how I can incorporate her name Jane, if it all!

I ferl like I can't ditch Marie because it's after my mom so I'm thinking either of getting rid of Evelyn or doing a double middle name. DS has a very traditional family name. Thoughts?
