Don't know if you have already bought one, but... I've owned both the G-lite and the G-luxe. Ours was an older G-lite (2011-- so no mesh, but a nice padded seat.) We loved it, it was our everyday stroller from when our kids were 6 months. Highly maneuverable w/ 1 hand, easy to use for air travel, lightweight, all around a winner. But after 5 years, the brakes gave out a few months ago. We ended up with a G-luxe from Craigslist that was cheaper than a new G-lite. The things we like most w/ G-Lite vs. G-Luxe are the heavier duty wheels and bigger basket. The recline hasn't been a major advantage since our kids aren't stroller nappers.

That said, if it is just to/from daycare, maybe it doesn't matter and cheap is fine.

For anyone looking, the Summer Infant 3D Lite is only $58 on prime right now. https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Convenience-Stroller-Hibiscus/dp/B00O20OCQC?tag=babycheap-20

Not as good as used price, but still pretty good.

@Anagram: @lioneyes: roger that. Yeah not crazy about the g lite fold either, or the prospect of having it jacked because it's UB brand. Keeping an eye on our neighborhood board for a used summer infant or something. Thanks, ladies!
@MrsSCB: Hi! 👋🏻 Hope you guys have been well. I think the breaze is too heavy/short for my purposes ( I need to be able to carry it along with the baby by myself) but if not for that, it looks s lot sturdier and nicer :)

My mom bought a graco breaze to keep at their house for when we visit. I was pretty happy with it, and I think it could work well for your purposes!

I have a g-lite and really don't like it. I use it as infrequently as possible, also it's annoying to fold. I have heard better things about the Maclaren.

@LCTBQE: Gotcha. If you are locking it outside, cheap is the way to go. I would just look on Craigstlist and see what you can find--there are several other cheaper strollers simimilar to the Summer Infant one--there's the Chicco Liteway, there's one called an Ignite (can't remember who makes it)...but someone was selling a barely used 3dLite on my mom's group last week for only $25.

@nana87: @hilsy85: @Littlebit7: we're using this mostly for daycare transit and neighborhood stuff and will be locking it (with a pitiful little cable lock) on Court Street outside our daycare every day, so that's why I didn't want to get a $500 yoyo or something--everyone else at daycare seems to have either a g-lite or a summer infant or a super shitty little umbrella stroller, like the $20 kind. I don't care if it reclines or not because our kid seriously will not sleep at all *ever* if not in his crib, it's pointless (so far at least). But I hadn't considered the one-handed push issue--looking into some of these. It's not too late for us to exchange the g-lite :)

@Anagram: @peachykeen: So right after I posted this I helped a woman on the subway stairs with her Summer Infant 3d-lite and it seemed pretty much indiscernible from the UB ones but like half the price. I asked her if I could push it for a second and how she liked it and she was kind of "meh, it gets the job done". But I hadn't considered the MB Nano at all and it's only a couple pounds heavier than the G-Lite and just as tall-people friendly. Thanks for this, going to check it out along with the Baby Jogger city tour.

@mrsbubbletea: good to know this! thank you :)

@erinbaderin: yeah, the reclined angle seems to bother my baby too, and it bugs him in our "big/nice" stroller as well (baby jogger city mini GT)--he keeps trying to sit up more to see out. --I thought that the g-Luxe might resolve that being more firm in the back, but sounds like you and @mrsbubbletea don't think so. what do you use as an umbrella stroller that addresses that issue?

We had a gluxe. We ended up selling it and buying a baby jogger tour. It's a much more compact fold and the ability to use it one handed is HUGE imo. My friend had the glite. It was never love for her either but she just lived with it. My kid always slumped in the gluxe

We have the G-luxe and don't really use it because I feel like the seat is too reclined even in it's most upright position.

We were making the same decision 2 years ago - we went with the G-luxe mainly due to the recline feature (which we used ALL the time when traveling). The difference in weight didn't end up making any difference to us - neither one is heavy but they're both awkward to carry for long periods of time.

I have heard that the Summer Infant 3D Lite is very similar to the G-luxe though - I might have looked into that more for the price had I known.

We have an umbrella stroller that reclines and I an really glad we have that feature. My daughter rarely naps in a stroller anymore-except when we're traveling and in that case she's most likely to be in the umbrella.

A friend has the glite and found out perfect with her first but now that she has a second she's kicking herself for not going with the gluxe because it would be much handier now to recline it for the baby and be able to use it sooner.
My vote is if you can still exchange it go for it. We have the mountain buggy nano and I think it's a little less than the gluxe and I like it better so perhaps that's another option for you.

the g luxe seat is nice and plush. but that being said, i think its natural for babies to slouch a little bit when they are newish to sitting up, i don't think its from the mesh!

I don't have either...I have the Summer infant 3-d lite. But the G-lite doesn't recline and that is necessary for my kids.

If I were spending G-luxe money though, I would get a Mountain Buggy Nano instead. It's way better than the G-luxe IMO for travel.

Does anyone have a strong opinion about which is better? We got the G-lite last week and it seems fine except it's annoying to me that the baby is slouching in it because the back is just mesh. Not sure if the g-luxe is *that* much better or more comfy for the baby. I bought the lite because it's less expensive and a couple pounds lighter, but kind of having buyers remorse. If you have one of these, what do you think if it?
