I'm 25 weeks and have only just now returned to my pre-pregnancy weight. I lost quite a bit in the first trimester, and have been slowly gaining it back. My midwives are really happy with this trend, especially since I gained close to 50lbs with my last pregnancy. They said ideally I will gain a total of 10-15 lbs, because I was so heavy to start with. I'd just follow your doc's recommendations.

My OB wasn't worried about the lack of weight gain. I was, though. I lost about 8 lbs because I had HG and was in and out of the hospital. I weighed myself a few days before I was induced at 34 weeks and I only gained 15 lbs. My babies (twins) are doing good. They were preemie babies (4#3 & 3#11) because my water broke at 28 weeks but that wasn't because of anything I did. Just a complication of a twin pregnancy. If your de isn't worried, I wouldn't be. Baby will take any nutrients from you and you might be a bit under nourished.

At 23 weeks, I am still down 1.5 pounds from where I started. Initially quite overweight and diabetic, I lost about 7 1/2 pounds. Baby boy is right on size and weight. If your dr isn't worried, I wouldn't worry.

I gained 15lbs with LO1 and 10lbs with LO2. I'm slim/healthy weight and stayed active but I'm convinced it was mostly because the babies smushed my stomach and I couldn't eat much without getting uncomfortable. Both babies were normal/average size.

I lost weight with both of my boys until the very end. I gained about 11 pounds at the end both times. I lost 30 pounds with N and gained 11 of that 30 back. I lost 20 with E and gained 11 of that back. They were both good size. I have Celiac too so I feel you on finding food thing.

I wouldn't worry. My OB told me that I really shouldn't gain any weight in the first trimester and then one pound a week after that. I lost weight from morning sickness in the first trimester so I think at 19 weeks I was probably up only 3 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight. I ended up gaining 23 over the course of the pregnancy and had an healthy baby.

I've never gained any weight before 20 weeks. Then go on to gain about a pound a week. Had two big healthy babies and am on track for another next month.

There's a difference between not gain weight early in pregnancy and late pregnancy. Typically you should t gain more than a few lbs in first trimester. Most weight gain should be in third trimester.

I gain 15 lbs total during my pregnancy. I started out at about 140 lbs and I'm 5'9". I was worried about it, but my midwife reassured me that everything was perfect with my baby. (And she was right! - he was 7lb 10 oz at birth!)Like @Cherrybee: said, the baby takes what they need! There's always something to worry about, but try to enjoy this :)

I was diagnosed with GD early this pregnancy so have been on a super restrictive, low carb, diet. As at 20 weeks, I've gained 5lb. My diabetes consultant assures me that the baby will take what she needs - she said babies are like parasites! - and not to worry. True enough, when I had my scan on Monday, baby was measuring right on track.

HI all...I'm on my 3rd pregnancy. I gained approximately 50 with my dd and 40 with my ds. I'm now almost 19 weeks and have only gained about 2 ibs. I did start off about 15 ibs heavier than my usual weight when I got pregnant. My appetite has been terrible, especially in the first trimester. It's slowly gotten better but since I have to eat gluten free (Celiac) I have such a hard time finding food besides salad, fruit, etc. Anyone ever gain a low amount? Anything I should be concerned about at this point?
