Tried the drops today and it was nearly instant relief for LO!

@Ree723: I'll have to look into the probiotics too, I'd love to treat the cause rather than just alleviate the symptoms!

We never used gas drops but started giving LO a probiotic around the same age and it solved her gas problems immediately. We had asked about gas drops but our midwife said we could treat the symptoms (use gas drops) or address the cause (use probiotics to balance out the good/bad digestive bacteria); it made sense to us so we went with probiotics!

@babyjmama: I EP, so he's bottle fed breast milk. We are switching to Dr Browns (as soon as Amazon delivers my package!!) so I hope that helps a little. We are also burping every 1/2 ounce or so during the feed to try to cut down on a little of the gas.

Mylicon drops were the only ones that worked for us. We also tried gripe water and little tummies drops but they didn't help.

Yep! I was told to give them before they ate. Something about the gas bubbles sitting on top of the medicine? It was a LONG time ago and I was stressed out so maybe I made that up :) are you bf or formula? If you're formula I could give bottle/formula kind suggestions. Bf only worked short term for me :(

Eta: @runningelley might have some advice :)

I've only ever needed them once since Sadie is a gas machine (she gets it from her daddy), but that one time was awesome. They were like magic potion... turned my screaming newborn right back into a smiley little goof.

Yes we used them a ton during the newborn stage - at each feeding probably! Gripe water was more effective for us and would fix him up within minutes if he was really really gassy. We also give him probiotic drops !

Do/did you use infant gas drops? Did you think they worked?

My 4 week old has some gas pain, about 2.5 hours after each feeding. He gets really fussy and is immediately relieved and calm once he passes gas. We do the bicycle legs, pat his back, etc. to help him pass gas, as well as rocking him just to comfort him if the bicycle legs don't do the trick immediately.

I'm thinking about trying them, I hate to see LO uncomfortable.

Any other gas-relieving suggestions?
