@ladybee: zantac made my BF baby have major poopsplosions, like diahrrea, which was listed as one of the side effects. However, all my formula feeding mom friends have been battled constipation at different points. I know one friend gives her LO prune juice, but I think her doctor didn't recommend that till he was close to 3 months old.

Never noticed a poop change with gas drops, which we use occasionally. My guess is it's the iron in the formula. We tried giving my LO an elemental formula for a couple of days to see how she reacts (because she has MSPI) and it made her stop pooping overnight which I actually liked because a poop at night is a guaranteed LONG middle of the night wakeup.

We experienced this, but figured it was the iron in the formula.

ETA: his ped told me it was normal when I told him that lo pooped every other day.

LO has horrible gas that appears to cause him pain. We've been giving him has drops 1-4 times a day. He's formula fed and on Zantac for AR. Well he hadn't pooped in over 24 hours and when I just changed him he had a turd stuck coming out that was way harder than any poop he's had in his 7 weeks of life. Could I have made my baby constipated?
