Everything cooks more easily and accurately now. We had to do that at our house - like you described, even on low stuff was boiling away vs. simmering nicely. We recently bought a new stove and the burners are tricky little things. I should probably remove everything and take a look at what is going on. Are you having issues? I often get flare ups after the stove is cleaned because it's hard to get the pieces that regulate the flame back on just right. I've also read that blockages can cause flare ups.
