I mean it sort of is because it's just flat, but the damn glass shows every.little.spot and sometimes it just BURNS onto there and is a pain to get out. I have to clean my glass top stove like 2-3 x a week for it to look good. And I hate how you cant control the heat instantaneously.. after you turn it down it takes a while to cool off. GAS STOVE ALL THE WAY! We dont have a gas option for my house, and that is definitely one thing I would have looked for an not compromised if I knew I'd hate it so much. Major con of my house. Electric is slower to heat, is uneven, etc. It is slightly easier to clean, but if the stuff gets baked on, it has to be scraped off with a razor. The temperature control on those things is garbage, and they actually aren't that easy to clean. Also, gas cooks 100 times better. I enjoy cooking on a gas stove way more. It's easier to regulate temperature, and once you turn a gas stovetop off, it's off --no more heat.
